I ordered the Little House on the Prairie Complete Series boxed set for $78.47 using the BNLOVEDAD code on top of their 40% of MSRP sale plus free express shipping. It's supposed to arrive tomorrow!

I cannot get BNJUNE30 to work for anything. I had more than $500 worth of stuff in my cart and it simply won't work. It's not a member only coupon, is it? Anyone know of a couple of big ticket items that for sure will work that I can use to at least get the coupon activated, then I'll alter the contents of my cart?

Thanks so much for pointing this out. I was getting frustrated to no end. Now I'll quit wasting my time and try again tomorrow.

Its active - just picked up a 30% discount off a big order. Hopefully at least half of it doesn't arrived smashed up....

Coupon stacks no problem with the 40% off sale. Also bought season 1 of Babylon 5, which is at half price at the moment, so it looks like no restrictions.

Ha! That was exactly my thought as well a few seconds after hitting the order button.

Picked up 11 titles including one pre-order and the Wim Wenders Road Trilogy. The per title cost for each film factored out to $13 each, not including tax. I'm happy. Been doing a good job of cutting back this year on DVD and Bd purchases so I don't mind placing one big order for the summer.
Almost like old times and the summer DDD sale.

I'm curious what will happen with my order of The Wonder Years. They had the complete series for $150 (comes out to $105 with the coupon, which I think is the cheapest it's ever been anywhere). It doesn't say "locker" anywhere but it has the locker edition's UPC. But they also had the upcoming standard version (same contents minus the bulky locker). Except they showed it as shipping immediately even though it doesn't come out until August. So I ordered that version ($120 minus 30%). Wonder what will happen.

The 2 different UPC I trace to other sites as both releasing 10/6/2015 -- 200MSRP and 250MSRP
One with the larger outer Locker package and the second appears to be pretty much everything except for the 2nd outer case and maybe a couple magner and ?? Red yearbook

Only Amazon seems to have an August release date even listed -- is there a re-release of the 2nd set coming or a 3rd release?

I see - just Amazon has it as a pre-order, but you're right it's basically the same as the deluxe version but without the locker, magnets and yearbook. Guess that's good for me - saves space - although not the exceptional deal I was thinking at first... $84 for 5 season. That's cheaper than anywhere else but I bet it'll be a lot less at some point later in the year. The $105 for the locker edition is a good deal, but I just don't have room for that.

Has anyone found the Hobbit trilogy in 3D? I was going to pick it up this time around with the 30% off but it seems the bluray version they have is not the 3D version (but its the only one they seem to have listed).

All of a sudden I can't use the BNJUNE30 coupon. It says my items ($185 worth) aren't eligible. I had the coupon sitting in there until a few hours ago - was going to place the order this evening and now all of a sudden its disabled. Anyone else experiencing this?

Just figured it out - they made it non-reusable apparently. I went to one of my other logins and was able to use it. They must have just done this within the last couple of hours.

Yeah, basically its taking the non-movies items to establish the required threshhold. Just another example of the BN rediculousness, that they start changing the terms of the coupons in the middle of the sale.

Devils Advocate:

Sad that the last few hours soured things a little, but overall this sale and coupon went so far above and beyond expectations it hard to really interpret what happened. Your team won the Super Bowl, covered the point spread, signed their MVP to a long term contract, but you lost the office pool on the last second score by the other team.

For 66 of 72 hrs it functioned almost perfectly for the customers ASSUMING they don't start cancelling orders. There was enough worry at the beginning whether any of these items would be eligible at all. The coupon terms didn't actually change though the enforcement/interpretation certainly did so the first 90% of the the sale went far smoother with actually far more items allowed than should have been. It was probably a resounding success for everyone but the B&N accountants

Section 7 could easily be interpreted to exclude any extra coupons with the 40% promotion and that is certainly not unheard of in past Criterion or 40% sales. Even coupons that would work for day or two of the sale and then stop. All the extra items/preorders/excluded items that were allowed as add-ons were certainly not supposed to be there. They could have and still could d/c the coupon completely based on the last paragraph.

This set is somewhat odd though look similar to a std B&N coupon from a couple weeks ago. This style coupon with a universal barcode (non unique) has in the past been multiuse in store though with 4 separate options that already is pretty good if you have a store that allows one specific coupon per customer -- assuming there is something you want that's still on sale of course. These appear like they were meant for some of the Deal sites, but I can't figure how they would be site specific, but for now assume YMMV

Even now I can't use the BNJUNE30 coupon (after all the movies I had in my cart went back to regular price). I don't think this was even a policy thing, I think they just broke something.

OK Happy campers -- new upcoming codes appear to have surfaced including some very decent online codes for the first week of the Criterion Sale

These should be Universal codes (for all customers), but with the odd way the last code and Movies in general ended up we can only hope the whatever block that was put on Movie+Discount code will be fixed.

Obviously a very short window for this first code depending on how fast the prices start changing after 12:01- 1:00am ET on 7/5.
Hopefully since it's on the backside of the holiday the IT guys will have this pre-set and not have to come in at 8am on Tuesday and catch up

Whoa, that's potentially awesome! But I bet Criterions will be excluded from coupons online. They've done it before... Granted, their "exclusions" haven't worked very well for them lately, so perhaps we'll find a way...

Not for me. I still get that message.

Update: The site works from my laptop, but not my desktop. That's similar to what happened last year about this time when they changed to a new site, but everything has been working since the holidays with no problems for me. They must have updated something since yesterday.

Update 2: Now it's working again from my desktop. Hey, at least BN isn't boring.

Also, btw, interesting how BN has come full circle. Several years ago, they started avoiding coupon web sites by having one-use-only coupons. Now, they're putting 20% off codes out to these web sites again.

Use Incognito mode in Chrome to get the site to work. Regular browsing is throwing the same error for me that site can't be found.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

I may regret my large BNJUNE30 purchase last week. I ordered 22 items total (16 books, five DVDs and one CD). Most of the items were in stock, but I had a handful of preorders. Currently, the last preorder to release in my order is in December (and it's possible it will be get pushed back even further).

It's been quite some time since I placed a BN order with a mixture of in-stock and preorder items. I remember them splitting shipments up and not holding onto the entire order until every item has been released. Anyone have recent experience with an order such as mine? What should I expect to happen? Thanks.
