Just for giggles -- I decided to make a run to B&N today and pick up some GC on the last day. I printed off one of the BF coupons and had the clerk check it -- it wouldn't go through so the coupon wasn't active today. I know last years code came out of Monday and I can't remember the first date someone tried it good or bad. It seems like by Wed for sure it was active.

I've been waiting for a book that was released today, so went to the store, but no luck on the BF coupon. The cashier called for the manager to do an override, but she politely nixed that. Ah well.

Amazing. The 30% off coupon is turning out to be a stellar deal.

The bonus $10 gift cards there giving this time around are a little different. Previously the bonus cards has no expiration. These are only good until 3/31/16 (so they won't last until the next Criterion sale).

Are they a gift card or a coupon? If they're a gift card, check your state law. Several states have laws on the books that gift cards to stores like B&N can't have expiration dates.

The wording very clearly says - and a manager clarified/overruled this before I could get what I though it'd said - that it is one $10 card per gift card purchase of $50 per customer.

So whereas the 10-for-75 was/appeared to be "increments of $75" (i.e. $20 for $150), this is JUST $10. $10 for $50, $10 for $150.

Unless you get a friendly/'confused' cashier... possibly.

Also, check your $8 off $40 coupons... the wording is reasonably clear: 'selling price of $40+ BEFORE DISCOUNTS', and while thr computer said "no" when it was scanned today, it still somehow took the money off (a $45 Eclipse set) before I paid... which was nice but awkward...!

Yeah, but that's if you purchase > $50 in 1 shot. If you get on line multuple times (which is what I did) and purchase a $50 card each time, you'll get additional $10 bonus cards.

When I went Friday then the cashier was trying to sell me on getting $100, $150, or more in gc's, so that he could give me 2,3, or more of the $10 gc's too ("free money" he called it).
