Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

Looks like the next round of coupons are coming on June 5.

15% Off One Item Coupon Details:

For each customer, this coupon can be redeemed once at any Barnes & Noble retail store or once per billing address online at BN.com.

This coupon is valid at BN.com from June 5, 2014 at 12:01am to June 9, 2014 at 2:59am Eastern Time, and at Barnes & Noble stores from June 5, 2014 to June 8, 2014 at close of business.

This coupon entitles you to 15% off one (1) eligible item in your order, while supplies last. The discount will be applied to the most expensive eligible item in the order - not the entire purchase - and will be deducted after all other eligible discounts, including (if applicable) the standard Member discount, are applied.

Additional Rules Governing Use of this Coupon: This coupon is (i) not redeemable for cash or cash equivalents (including Gift Cards and eGift Cards); (ii) not valid on past purchases; (iii) not eligible for purchases of the following products and services: Barnes & Noble Memberships, Gift Cards, eGift Cards, gift-wrapping, textbooks, digital content (including but not limited to NOOK Books(TM), NOOK Magazines(TM), NOOK Newspapers, and NOOK Periodicals), NOOK ® devices, NOOK accessories that are already discounted, other hardware and electronics, software, products available for pre-order, products from the Rosetta Stone Series, LEGO(R) Architecture Studio, LEGO(R) Mindstorms EV3, LEGO(R) Star Wars 10225 R2D2, LEGO(R) Star Wars Death Star and LeapFrog LeapPad Ultra Kids' Learning Tablets, in-store purchases of Print Magazines, or products marked as not eligible for "coupons or promotional discounts," (iv) not valid on purchases made from third parties accessible from the BN.COM website (e.g., used books, etc.); (v) not valid on applicable sales tax or shipping or handling expenses; (vi) may not be combined with any other coupon or promotional discount; and (vii) may not be combined with the Educator program discount. This coupon is not valid at Barnes & Noble College bookstores or websites. Barnes & Noble is not responsible for typographical or pictorial errors.

This offer is subject to change or discontinuation without notice; we will, however, honor properly placed orders with valid methods of payment with sufficient funds placed prior to such change or discontinuation. Void where prohibited by law.

Run the numbers...you may be better off using the B2G1 deal.

I got the first three Zep reissues for $30!

No information on the next sale? 40% off all Blu-rays?

Tonight's the night when the planets may align and provide the briefest of windows, during which we may see the overlap of a B2G1 sale with a 40% off sale. Who else will be watching the stars tonight?

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

is it 40% off every cd, blu-ray, and dvd in the store? or is it 40% off selected cds, blu-rays, and dvds?

The B1G1 has ended, and 40% off is slowly phasing in. There will be no overlap this year. See you all next month.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

I fell asleep last night while waiting for the overlap, so I am kinda glad it didn't happen... But I definitely hope it happens next month. I forgot, what typically happens after the 40% sale. The British sale? And then Criterion after that?

Not sure about cds and dvds, but it was all blu-rays in store. I tried to place a ship to store order on Longmire season 1 & 2 BD but was shot down. Cashier looked it up and tried to do it but said something about there was only a limited amount of copies to be shipped and they could only do ship to home.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

Are coupons typically disabled online during this sale like the Criterion 50% off sale, or have they worked in the past?

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

Cust. Service told me that I could still do the Buy 2 Get 1 Free sale today or tomorrow, but that's because they keep having troubles.

I put in an order last week, after adding everything that was in stock and checking out they confirmed the order, then sent me a shipping notice, then a day later told me that the one book (oop at some other places) was actually not in the order and was being cancelled. Which was disappointing, but moreso given that they didn't seem to want to refund the money for it to my gc. I contacted them after 24 hours, and they told me to be patient that it would definitely be refunded in the next 24 hours. I chatted again after that didn't happen, and the guy told me that it would absolutely happen in the next 72 hours. Over 2/3 of that has passed and no refund still, but as part of the convo he promised to put in notes that I could still have the sale once they ever got around to refunding me the money. We'll see.

I finally, finally, got a ship notice the other day for the free title in a B2G1 order I placed in January! It took talking to three different supervisors over several weeks (all of who claimed they were sending a note to the warehouse) to get movement on it. Still haven't received it, but I assume it is finally coming.

B&N seems to have a hard time fulfilling it's obligations on the B2G1.

When you can't fill simple orders on commoditized items like packaged media, you have to believe their days are numbered.

I'm not seeing any 40% sale advertised or mentioned on bn.com. Is it in-store only?

My presumption is that they are wary of sending out "free" items.

Many places distribute the 'free' item's price as a discount on each item - 3 x $30 for $60; each item is a third off, and charged at $20.

Some places (foolhardily) give you the percentage off/savings on the first item - sending you the $30 item free before charging for the second or third; B&N more wisely sends you the full-priced items first and the free one last... but then seem to be reluctant to send that final item for free. I've had two problems like that as well, and in both cases it's taken multiple people to push the free book/DVD out of their system...

I'm just glad that instore they only (in my experience - and I know many have other experiences) raise an eyebrow when selling titles for considerable savings. During the Criterion sale, you can often buy a $100 Criterion title for half-off, plus 10% member, plus 20% coupon... that's $54 off. Buy two $100 sets, and you get one of them completely free (and then some). Any businessman would baulk at that, but they wave them through instore with only mild trepidation!)

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

I just got back from B&N where I got a new membership and picked up a couple BDs at good prices...and the package was waiting for me. The last supervisor told me she was going to expedite delivery for the trouble (a courtesy I had expected the first two supervisors to offer, which they never did) and it came via UPS so I guess she did.
Part of this lengthy delay was on me. I wasn't in any hurry for the disc so I let it slide curious to see just how long it would take for them to finally fill the order. If I'd been more eager for it, I would have started calling back in early April when I got off the road. Just happy it's finished now. For the next B2G1 I'll have the membership so I'll get expedited shipping which may help. Also, the title at the time of the order was a week in advance pre-order. Since I was going free budget shipping, I expected them to wait the week and ship all three at once but they didn't.

edited to add- The good news is it came with a slipcase. The bad news is the whole thing is mangled to hell. Eco case + no reinforcement in the shipper = a big nasty mess.

Any 20% off coupons available? I'm not a member of B&N.

My condolences on the wait, that would certainly cause me to question them too. I've never had anything like that, but then I don't do the B2G1F sales too often.

Since plenty of coupons seem to be available, I could use one single coupon for this weekend - thanks!

I'd also be very appreciative for any surplus coupons anyone could pass along. 15% would be great -- 20% even better (I'm a member)! Thanks!
