Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

I was able to use the 8 off 40 coupon for a criterion which, with the 10% member discount brought my copy of 'Safety Last' to about $10. At first the register balked, but I simply told the girl to key it in manually and it worked. I find just acting like its fine and explaining patiently to them how to do it usually works (unless you happen to get a manager in which case they usually block it). So what are people recommending? I bought of ton of Criterions back during the summer sale, so I'm not sure if there is anything interesting worth picking up. I believe the next Chaplin is due out soon (City Lights).

The nonmember 15% coupon in post #8350 does not seem to work online for the (non-Criterion) Art House sale, at least not for Nosferatu. Am I doing something wrong, or do coupons not work online for the Art House sale either? Or is it because this title is a preorder?

15% code I don't have use for, expires 11/10 -- Likely won't work towards Criterions.

I could use a store-coupon if any are available, and thank you in advance!

Note too that the new membership coupons that Laser posts are worth trying and YMMV of course. On Tuesday, I was able to use the $8 and $5 coupons in-store on the same transaction to get Cassavettes for $44 and A Separation for $8 plus tax.

If anyone has an extra 20% coupon they won't be using please let me know.

Thanks in advance!

Sent out coupons for those that requested one. If you specifically requested a 20% coupon I'm sorry I can't fulfill those requests.

My wife received a 20% in her email today, i will try it at a store this weekend, if it does not work i will post it here so someone else can try their luck. Usually my store takes all coupons, but last sale I didn't have any luck with any additional coupon.

I hate to be a mooch, but if someone has an extra coupon to spare, I would be most grateful. Laser was kind enough to give me one, but I could really use one more(I have Eyes Without a Face & Seconds on hold). B&N just will not send me a coupon no matter what I do. Thanks.

The link for the coupon email sign up says:

The registration page is no longer active
Is there another way to sign up for coupons?

Easiest way to sign up is by using the "Be In the Know" box atr the bottom of most BN.com pages. It may take a week or so to start getting mails, but by the next coupon mail it should work. If using Gmail often the first couple of mails go to the Spam folder so check and OK the address as Not Spam.
I'll give that a shot, thanks.

Here's how the sale has worked for me today: got a 15% coupon, then I bought a $75 gift card online. At check out used a member phone #, plus coupon and used gc as payment. It all worked, and worked out to $15.30 before tax for a single blu. However the sales person did have trouble with the coupon, I believe they said the member discount wasn't working with the coupon, initially. Ultimately they had to enter it manually for it to work.

BTW-The fine print on the gift card deal for a $10 gc at a later date says it must be purchased at bn.com, so if anyone got the gift card deal to work at a bm store please post your success/failure for the benefit of us all.

Now, the blu I bought was Breathless, which some of you may know has recently been difficult to find, since the end of October it's been this way basically. The rumors are it may have gone out of print do to a repackaging or even a future dual disc release. So heads up that a few might still be out there. I've been looking for Army of Shadows since the last sale with no luck.

Forgot to mention I got a free criterion sampler at bn with my purchase, I think it's a DVD, haven't watched it yet. It's called 99 Reasons, and has a 2013 copyright on it. Nice bonus!

Works just fine in store. Lots of signs up advertising it. When you buy a gift card of $75+, they hand you a separate gift card for the $10 designed specifically for this promotion. Says not valid until 12/26 on it.

yesterday I used the two codes in the op.
the 15% and 20% codes that are just 6 numbers.
Both worked on 2 seperate movies, "To Be" and Seconds

Today got a 20% off and a 15% off in email.

Thanks for bringing that to my attention. That link was for the old sign up page they discontinued. However you could still use it to sign up at the bottom of the page since it still had another box to enter your email for B&N coupons and sale information. I updated it with a new link to hopefully make it less confusing in the future for anyone that uses it.

^I just utilized both of those codes as a member in-store.

For the $75 gift card deal, is it correct to assume you have to buy them/it in one transaction, or do they tie purchases to your member/credit card to allow for purchases over time...? (And is it possible to buy multiples for Christmas presents..?)

Were you planning to do this online or at a store? If you do it at a store just purchase $75 worth of gift cards and they will give you a $10 promotional gift on the spot that will get activated later. I think it's on December 26. If you do it at a store you can do this multiple times. Online you can do it only once per account and have to wait to receive a $10 e-gift card later on in your email.

Online it's a one time deal per account.

In store you can buy multiple cards and get multiple $10 gift cards. I know I get 6 or 8 in store last year and more than once I bought more than one $75 card at a time. The last day/last 15 minutes I got 3 more cards to use for the December sales and 2 for Xmas gifts.

As long as it equals $75 or more you can spread it out over multiple gift cards of whatever value you decide. It's the total purchase value that matters.
