BN members, watch your mailboxes for an exclusive holiday coupon mailer containing two 20% off coupons. I received mine on Thursday.

Also, they're doing the free $10 promo gift card with $75 gift card purchase again, like last year. That starts tomorrow, 11/3, through 12/2. The $10 promotional gift card can be redeemed beginning 12/26.

What are the odds of a Black Friday deal/coupon that would compliment the Criterion sale...?

Excellent. I'll need three $75 gift cards to cover the sale and I'll have a free $30 to spend after Christmas.:)

FYI - I received two 20% off coupons via snail mail on Friday. They were in a holiday mailer from BN.

Is there a limit to the amount of gift cards that can be used during a transaction?

The gift card deal is 1 per account right? Is there a way around this? Also, can you do it in store?

That's how I remember it also. I bought cards at the main registers, then went back to the media department to use 'em during the CC sale. Also, membership is not required to get in on the gift card deal.

Online you can use 3 cards in a single order. In store I think you can use as many as the clerk will scan.

Thanks. I plan on doing most of my purchases in store (hoping they have my main wants in stock) to maximize savings with coupons so that is useful info, thanks!

You can reserve the titles that you want on their site and they will hold them for three days.

That's nearly a month, has it always run that long?

Hoping I can scrape up some coin for that Zatoichi box.

Do the promo gift cards have an expiry date or are they just like regular gift cards?

They are just like a regular gift card. I still have some from last year and they are still valid.

Here's the fine print for the gift card offer at B&N.com.

Thanks Laser!

Are there usually any worthwhile deals on BF? I'm assuming there's no reason to hold off on any Criterion purchases for BF?

B&N has had some good BF deals in the past. If I remember correctly I didn't think there were many last year though. With the Criterion sale there is no reason to hold off for any potentially better deals on BF. However we might see better coupons of 25% off or more. Just hoping there are no coupon restrictions during this sale.

Confirmed new 15% non-member and 20% member coupons are coming later this week and next. Looks like the usual Thursday through Sunday coupons. Also found and added to the first page some new generic online 15% and 20% coupons valid for all customers this week and next. There are also some store coupon numbers but doubt I will run across printable coupons to use if it is like some of the recent ones that were similar. I figure the online codes will get activated a day early on Wednesday.

So what's the process to get a store or order in a Criterion title they don't have? Can I request a title and then have them order it in... and then when I pick it up, go discount stacking on it?

That's usually how it works. Once the item is in store it's in their system as regular inventory, so in theory, you should be able to stack membership, sales, and coupons. Occasionally, you'll get a pinhead who will enforce the letter of the law and disallow a discount on a 'special order' item.

I don't think coupons work on preorders. Probably have to wait till the release date.

So far the Criterion sale is a big dud with very few titles even showing up at 50% off. I hope B&N is planning to add more titles.

Currently 15% off code RMN15BN is working online and is valid for all customers.

Here's a heads up: 3 Films By Roberto Rossellini starring Ingrid Bergman is $39.99 online, 50% off $79.99. That saves $5 over in-store purchase even for members.

All 20 titles that I'm interested in are half off.
