Updated DVD.uk

Now OOS
American Gangster
Backdraft
Holiday

New Titles
Doom
Evan Almighty
Fearless
Hot Fuzz
I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry

IMO, Fearless + Hot Fuzz make a nice 2-for-10 combo, as would either title plus Elizabeth: The Golden Age. If I didn't already have them, I'd be jumping at this price.

for those leery of using EzyDVD, i continue to be incredibly impressed. received 3 orders today - ordered between 6 and 9 days ago. single titles were in envelopes protected by a cardboard sleeve, the other order of 3 came in a box.

So out of 7 or 8 orders, i've yet to wait longer than 8 days to receive them...and all have arrived in perfect shape.

My order for the 5 Harry Potter Movies from EzyDVD was awesome, for the second time I got my order within 10 days, this time it only took about 8 days all together. It's worth it to order from them...while you still can that is.

Just as a quick pricing correction, the shipping and handling charge for the Battlestar Galactica set shipped to the US is 3 pounds, not 1 pound. That results in a total of 17.99 pounds.

When I ordered this set last week from dvd.co.uk, I estimated that the 17.99 pound total would be equivalent to $35.70. I've since checked my credit card statement and the actual billed price was $36.53.

Hey, does anyone know if Miami Vice on HD at ezydvd is the theatrical cut or the director's cut? Thanks in advance.

Eh, I thought they were OK. The shipping time (+/- 10 days) is good enough, but the HD-DVDs I ordered were packaged in an unpadded cardboard sleeve. Both arrived as floaters and one of the inner hubs was broken. Very very minor damage to the discs---and they played OK, but it was a pain to hunt down replacement cases. Customer support acknowledged my problem but didn't do much else.

I ordered Battlestar Galactica Season 1 from an Amazon UK Marketplace seller (Chartbusters UK) and received it in just a week (ordered Sunday, delivered on Monday). Price was 13.53 pounds plus 3.08 shipping ($34.04 charged to my credit card). Shipped in a padded envelope, so the outer box sustained some corner damage, but the discs were in perfect shape. Chartbusters has since lowered their price to 12.98 pounds.

Jen: What was the product packaging for the UK version? Is it like the US packaging, the Aussie packaging, or something different?

US (one big fold-out):

Australia (two keepcases in a slipcase):

Something different. The UK packaging is almost identical to the Heroes Season 1 set in the U.S., cardboard fold-out, three discs on each side from the center. Each disc sits in hard plastic. I got the UK version because (along with cheapest price), I had read reports of U.S. discs being scratched during manufacturing and the Aussie case being damaged in shipment. I was disappointed that my outer cardboard packaging was a litttle beat up in shipment (reminds me of a lot of TV sets I bought from Buy.com during the Google checkout sale (laugh) ), but I'm not a stickler on that and I'm happy to have the discs at that price. And as I said earlier, the discs made it through in perfect shape.

I have the SD version already. Is this a worthy upgrade for $50 (the coupon basically makes the shipping free)?

Good deal on the UK version of Terminator 2. That's about the lowest shipped price you'll find for a new copy. I bought T2 from dvd.co.uk during an earlier promotion and it arrived in great shape.

Well, if we're swiping from SD: Amazon.ca also has the Mission Impossible 3-movie HD-DVD collection for CA$29 + s/h.

Not necessarily...the offer has and expiration date, but says "OR while supplies last."

I wouldn't buy this thinking you have a chance of getting the phaser remote.
Generally the post office box these are sent to are closed shortly after the expiration date. The "while supplies last" comment is in case they run out of them before the expiration date.

As uglyjay wrote, the "or while supplies last" clause would typically allow a promotion to end before the listed purchase and submission deadlines. It's a "whatever occurs first" clause.

If i recall correctly, that rebate required the purchase of an HD-DVD player and the Star Trek set before 02/29/08. And there was a 03/31/08 deadline for mailing it in.

But it it might be worth the cost of a stamp to find out for sure.

When I didn't receive my phaser remote I called the CS # on the rebate form. They cashed my check, but I didn't receive the remote (they sent it to the address on my check, and not the address on the rebate form - we recently moved). The rep said the offer was over, and asked me several times whether I sent the paperwork in on time. So it would appear they have closed the offer and probably the PO box. But as others said, might be worth a shot for the price of a stamp.

FWIW I'm thinking of trading/selling my remote and ST TOS S1 discs. If interested, send me a PM with an offer.
