Does any one know if the Panasonic BD35 is still on sale at Costco? It figues, once I decide what I want then I can't find a good price on it.

No...The Sony is on sale now, but the sale on the Panny has ended.

Classic Films 12-23-08 11:57 PM

The Fox War, Western, and Sci FI box sets currently have a $30 instant off bring the price down to $69.99 each. The $39.99 sets ie Mel Brooks set, Aliens Quad, Rodgers and Hammerstein set etc. have an instant $10 off bringing price down to $29.99. The gift set musicals such as West Side Story, South Pacific, Fiddler On The Roof, Sound of Music etc still have $7 instant rebate bring cost down to $22.99 each.

Now that December 24th is past and few if any Costcos had the Murnau/Borzage set for sale at $60 off, any speculation as to whether Costco will ever honor that price or indeed ever get the set in?

I don't think so, not unless they have another similar sale. As someone pointed out earlier, they cover their butts in these matters by printing a disclaimer on the coupon pages. Something about not every warehouse having the same stock. But, last year, Costco had Ford at Fox, X-Files, and something else (probably Stargate) for a sizable discount in December, and again in May or June. The way they repeat sales on most everything, I think I'll be waiting it out until May or June, if a comparable price doesn't come up online.

Anybody see the HOUSE Season Sets? I cannot seem to locate them...

This may be in this months coupon book. I think for $30 off. (Doing it off of memory. Sale starts January 5th.

No DVD coupons in the new book. :(

It's $50 off, so the final price will be $229.99.

I bought it a couple weeks ago and it the newer 80 gig, an extra wireless controller, and the official HDMI/USB cable set for $600 (or maybe $500, whatever $100 over the regular system price is).

I might have to return a 360 bundle soon. How did the return process go for you? Did you have to repackage all the bundle items and have all the old packaging? I'm not sure if I remember exactly what was in the bundles I've bought.

To be safe I tracked down what was in the original bundle when I bought it, I couldn't remember if it was 1 controller or 2. Found old posts somewhere about what was in it. I didn't have the box or receipt though. They wrote down some info, a manager looked in some computer, saw what I brought back and Ok'd it. I'm lucky I didn't sell Motorstorm, the game it came with, otherwise they may not have taken it.

I just got a Costco mailer today that had a $50 off a Panasonic Blu-ray player...any idea which player it is? I can't see from the picture in the coupon book. Thanks.

The prices will have to drop in the future(so I hope). However, Costco still offers a no time limit return policy on Blu-ray players, so it's a risk free purchase.:)

I'd finally settled on this being the BD player I was gonna get (despite no DIVX or region hack), but now...
1) I'm regally peeved that I missed out on it when it was $199. Not one local Costco had even one in stock until the day after the sale ended (then that Monday the first Costco I went to had them stacked to the ceiling!).
2) So...$229 now. OK. ...But what's this I'm reading recently about Pana discontinuing the BD35? Problems with it? A newer model with better features and/or lower price? Makes me leery about going for it right now...

Unless I'm misinterpreting this, it sounds almost too good to be true...

Costco used to offer a no time limit, hassle free return policy on everything except computers(6 months for computers). They changed the policy to just 3 months for most electronics because of the abusers trading in their old TVs for a refund. However, they didn't include DVD players(including Blu-ray players) in this policy change.

JB7 01-04-09 03:29 PM

Mick- I would have asked for a raincheck. All big ticket items, they will give you a raincheck for if you ask for one.

I believe the item has to be defective (after the 30/90 day window), to be returnable. You can't just return a dvd player 4 years later because you want a new one . . . unless you lie.

That's a negative. It's a satisfaction guarantee return policy. They will ask if anything is wrong with the item and they will check to make sure that all of the accessories are in the box, but it does not have to be defective to receive a refund.

Merchandise: We guarantee your satisfaction on every product we sell with a full refund. Exceptions: Televisions, projectors, computers, cameras, camcorders, iPOD / MP3 players and cellular phones must be returned within 90 days of purchase for a refund.

I honestly never even knew Costco gave rainchecks on those limited time at-the-register instant discounts.
You live and learn (the hard way)...

I didn't either, until I called costco to complain on how we were treated when looking to buy a laptop. Both the Corporate Costco person and the store manager who called said it was possible. We didn't know either until then, since the employee didn't offer us one. They were pushing the demo on us at full price.

Like your situation, we went two weeks after the coupon ended and the costco had about 8 laptops on the floor. Who knows how many more they had in back.
