I saw all the original X-Files season sets on sale for $19.99 at Costco today. These are the largely 7 disc sets in the fold-out digipacks (not the slim packs).

I don't know if this has been mentioned, but they have some 2-packs for $9.99, I can't remember the others but I did pick up The Manchurian Candidate/The Thomas Crown Affair (original versions).

Yeah, we buy the season sets for $19.99 thinking that they couldn't get any lower and then they show up at Costco for $16.99. That's ok. Three bucks won't kill me and I think $20 is a great price for a full season of a great show.

I don't know much about "Six Feet Under" other then it was highly rated. I'm not looking for storyline information. I just wnt to know if it is over after 5 seasons and whether it had a fitting conclusion. I read a basic intro and I really don't want any spoiler information. Just whether it is a complete story line from beginning to end.
It seems to normally go for around $40 a season like "Deadwood". At $16 a season it might be worth a blind buy to try it out figuring I could get back most of it selling used later, if need be.

Picked up the first season of "Six Feet Under" for $16.99 at Costco to try out tonight. If all goes well I can get more seasons tomorrow. About the packaging, I like to give sets a little shake first to check for floating disks. They only had one copy of season one and while it shook a little funny it did not sound like a floater so I got it. When I opened it out in the car I saw why. It has an unusual flip up section with a DVD insert section that was moving. No damaged disks.
They also only had one copy of season two and that one did sound like a floater which is probably all scratched up by now. They had multiple of seasons three through five and they all sounded fine.
So what is the packaging like for season 2? If you have it and heard something knocking around would you assume a floating disk? How are seasons three through five packaged inside?

I took the same approach, only I got season 1 back at the Best Buy sale a few weeks back. After I finished season 1, I kicked myself for not getting more. I picked up the rest yesterday, at Costco. Great Deal for a non-sale price for sure.
I just opened season two and it is a little different than the season one box I got, easier to access. More like The Sopranos.
