The Hastings Buy 2, Get 1 for a Penny is still valid at my local locations. Not sure if it is nationwide or not but it's a good YMMV. I was able to get the Magic Knights Rayearth: Complete Series set for $26.99, the Scrapped Princess set for $20.00, and Kaleido Star set for a Penny. All of them were used of course. So this might still be a great source for those looking to find anime bargains (depending on what your Hastings has in stock!)

And remember that Hastings has decent price offers on buy-backs, so bring in some DVD's, CD, or Books that are just collecting dust for you and the sale might be even better!

Just a heads up regarding a couple Manga Entertainment releases, since some of the single volumes are on the TRSI Weekly Specials:
  • Tactics DVD Box Set (Trans World Entertainment Exclusive, B&M only) - $49.99 (MRSP) - Currently Released
Vol.5 is still not officially solicitated (it may be released in February '08), but it's available for purchase as a boxset

A word of caution...

If they ring up a different price than the one listed here, then please report back. Thanks!
There is a very good reason for that. They put up that disclaimer because Best Buy uses a intranet (local computer network) website on their kiosks where they sometimes have different prices than the actual website. They were even sued over the second kiosk only site.

If you find a deal at the Best Buy website and want to go to the store to get it, always, always print out a copy. I have found that to work in most cases.

That news has been known for a while now, but it almost never affects anime titles. Most of the Best Buy anime deals that we deal with for this thread are only available in stores (B&M). The prices that you see @ BestBuy.com (accessed at home) are sometimes higher for anime. Most of the older titles on the Best Buy table are only available for ordering via the kiosk since they are no longer available in the stores. Printouts can be used for pricematching, but it's almost never used for anime unless there is a website price mistake (i.e., .hack//Roots, Vol.1+Box, Dragon Ball Z Uncut Boxset 2,...).

Sorry about the overlap. I just read that article chain and felt I should share. I didn't realize that people already knew it here.

It's not a problem...sometimes it's good to rehash certain information for the people who don't frequently visit/follow the anime bargain threads.

No it's not a thinpak release, Overstock.com has listed the incorrect product information. This release has the 3 DVDs fitted in a standard-sized keepcase (2 discs on a tray-page) and it has no extras.

I don't know if this is a pricing error or what, but Deep Discount has the Haruhi 3 SLE for $24.04. DVD Empire has it for $21.xx as well. I'm debating if I should order it now or risk waiting for the DD 20% off sale rumored to be soon. Any suggestions?

At that price I would order it. You would never know if they will raise the price before the upcoming 20% off sale.
