I'm going to resist. Last year I bought Nero Wolfe and Hornblower in A&E's sales and haven't watched a single episode on either. (Besides, just got some nice UK comedy from sendit.com in the mail these past two days...)

Forgive me if this is common knowledge, but I just got an Xmas present request from my daughter for the box set A&E BBC series of Pride and Prejudice, so until now I had not been looking.

Are there any good sales on it, or past sales that WERE good prices that I can base my deal-hunting for it on?

I take it you are referring to the Pride and Prejudice version starring Colin Firth, which comes on 2 DVD and ia about 6 hours long. You can either buy this alone repackaged with some fancy packaging and I believe some packaging include a little book also, but I am not sure. I think this usually go for a price in the twenty something dollar range. Have not seen this one item on sale per say. However, for even more bang for your buck you may want to consider getting the A&E Romance Collection 1 which also includes the above mentioned Pride and Prejudice along with several other costume dramas. The collection retails for $200 but I have seen it on sale for $60 on the A&E ebay store as well as on the www.shopaetv.com website.

Exactly what I just bought. Been meaning to pick up Nero Wolfe for a while now - so this works out perfect for me. Don't really know a lot about Jeeves & Wooster, but it certainly sounds like something I would enjoy - so it should be a nice little blind freebie.

I would really like to purchase "World at War", but am having trouble picking out another title. I'm disappointed that they did not include the Horatio Hornblower set in this time around, as they had sometime last spring.

Question for everyone: Do you think that DD.com/Dvdplanet will hold another one of these BOGO on AE titles? Is the appearing to be a common sale, or should I grab World at War now, while I still can?

I was kind of in the same boat (but was hoping for the Prisoner), I ended up taking a chance on UFO. You could always just get to WAW and sell one or gift one? I know this sale happens occasionally, but who is to say if World at War won't be the missing title next go around.

Would anyone be willing to recommend "History of Britain" as a companion purchase to World at War? I'm ready to make a blind buy on it, have read great reviews, but just need a little extra motivation. Has anyone watched it and willing to recommend?
