I highly recommend waiting. B&N typically puts new releases at 20% or 30% off around release day. This was full price yesterday, and went to 15% off today. I'll bet you anything it drops to 20% or 30% by next Tuesday... Then combine with the member discount and coupon for a super bargain!

Looks like I'm stopping at Target before my orientation at my new job on Tuesday...

Anyone know the price on Friday Night Lights S1? Will probably just pick it up while I'm there.

the picture from the Target Ad doesn't say "Bonus DVD Included"...it just says "...with 45 Mins of content..."...so does that mean the exclusive stuff will just be on one of the discs already in the set?

i have a feeling it'll end up like the 300 deal and just be something already on the disc but you get a different slipcover or the 45 min interview will be the Larry King interview which i already have recorded

I've reconsidered. While the slipcover does look cool, I don't need to pay an extra $10 for content I can most likely watch online and some paintings that will just sit in the box. Amazon is getting my $ this week.

Frankly, exclusives are starting to bother me. Feeling the need to rush to the store on a Tuesday morning before going to work and class for the most part just doesn't seem worthwhile.

after really thinking about how that Target ad was worded I think the only exclusive material will be the box slipcover and 4 mini-paintings. Yes, it says "45 minutes of content" but it doesn't say "bonus content" or "bonus DVD" or anything like that. After looking at the IGN review of the standard set I think the 45 minutes the ad refers to are the featurettes already announced (excluding the unaired pilot and deleted scenes)

I could be completely wrong about this...but my opinion is that there isn't any bonus content in the Target set as far as the way it looks right now.

(not really a rant but I have seen stores start doing this more and more...wording their ads to make it seem like you are getting something more but they are only putting the time of the bonus features already on the sets or DVD's. These stores sell their "Exclusive Deluxe Collector's Limited Editions" and the ads say buy such and such set exclusive to whatever store and inside the exclusive statement they just say stuff that all the regular editions would have anyway)

ive only really seen target do that regularly. they like to put a different slipcover or box around the regular packaging and slap an "exclusive" sticker on it.

off-hand, ghost rider and 300 come to mind.

If you don't care about freebies and only want the best price, B&N is the way to go. It is $41.98 but only $31.49 with the 15% off member coupon... Plus free expedited shipping (usually UPS 2nd Day). I don't think you'll beat that anywhere...

I'll be at Target at opening to see what the exclusive looks like and if I wanna spend the extra money. If it's not worth it, then I'll go somewhere else.

^ Please report your findings. I won't be going until later, but might be able to get there earlier if I try really hard. Don't want to push it, if the Target "exclusive" isn't that special. Meaning no bonus disc. (Thanks!)

15% off 41.98 @ B&N is not 31.49 unless theres another discount your not telling us because 15% off is 35.68. I received an e-mail today from Family Video for 20% off which at there price of Heroes is 35.98 would put it at 31.96 plus $1 shipping.

anyone work at target that can confirm y/n for the bonus disc? the wording on the ad does is a little like the 300 wording which ended up being a waste of more money... but doesn't the set itself have more than 45 minutes of bonus content already? it wouldn't make sense to advertise only 45 minutes if there is a lot more, you know? nevertheless, i'll be there at open to check it out. the slipcover looks pretty cool with the isaac drawing that wraps around (or so it looks like). but yea, four little mini-art pieces isn't really worth $10...

yes, technically there is more than 45 minutes of bonus features. But that is only if you include the Unaired Pilot and deleted/extended scenes. What I believe is 45 minutes are the featurettes that are on the set. It seems more likely that they are just wording it that way to get people to believe there is something extra where there isn't. The ad is in 3 parts really, exclusive deluxe edition, then 45 minutes of content, then 4 exclusive mini-paintings...adds up to wrapping exclusives around a standard feature, kind of manipulative, but hey...it's all business..they have to get people in their stores somehow.

I do plan on blind buying this (I have my reasons)...but for as big of a splash as this show made...the set does seem like it could have been a lot bigger as far as the extras were concerned. I don't buy the whole argument of "oh well just buy the HD Version...". Not everyone has hundreds of dollars to spend to just have the ability to watch a couple bonus features. They probably could have released a set of just bonus features and it would probably sell just as well. Just compared to the hype, promotion, ratings, etc 45 minutes just seems like they considered the extras as a throw-in instead of material that would be valued by fans of the show

Hey guys, my Target got the Heroes special edition in today. Here are the facts I think people are looking for (straight from a "Target Entertainment Specialist"):

- It is an EIGHT disc set. The Target edition does therefore have an exclusive bonus disc.
- The 45 minutes is a Q&A from some kind of Television and Radio panel.
- It has 4 mini paintings. He tried to discribe the 4 pictures, but having not seen the show I got lost.

I tried to get them to go to the back to let me see if the cover was lenticular or something, but the DVD guy didn't have time. Hope that helps some of you with your decision making this Tuesday.
