Jesus, I think this is the third dip on this set.
Keep an eye out for misprices confusing possible close-out prices on the original set with this set. I'd pay about 20 bucks for this triple dip, but that's about it.

^ Considering they are 2-discers this time around, I'm in for at least 3 of these titles, meaning it will probably be cheaper for me to buy the whole box set. I never did buy any of these before though, as I have a fear of snappers.

No love for Barry Lyndon? Or... just sloppy ad copy?

I will buy this set either way because Kubrick is my favorite director, but I am getting impatient waiting to here whether Eyes Wide Shut will be Uncensored or not.

Seeing as that comes out the same day, I have to assume that it's actually in the set-- and the info on the website is incomplete.

^ It isn't in the set. Just these five. Look up the thread about the collection in the DVD Talk section.

Those prices for the individual movies ($21 for 2001:ASO) are kinda steep. I'm gonna wait till the fall 20% off sale that'll occur 2 weeks after the release date and grab just 2001:ASO and The Shining.

Same deal with Lolita. A new version that day but it's not in the set.

if Barry Lyndon was in there instead of ews i would already be on this

hard to believe i revere every movie in that set so thoroughly and yet detest ews so much that i simply refuse to own it.

when chicks that hot are walking around naked and i'm still bored... clearly something's rotten in Kubrickville

I'm wondering why they left out Barry Lyndon and Lolita...and on top of that, why do Kubrick collections start off in the Lolita time period and not with his earlier works? Is that because of WB associations?

Not to mention whether it's OAR or Kubrick's specifications, and uncensored EWS. I'll wait for November, but this looks good.

I have NEVER double dipped, but I'm awfully tempted to do so here.

It's a no brainer double dip for the new anamorphic transfers... But I'm still waiting to hear about the transfers for Lolita and Barry Lyndon (as mentioned, same day re-re-re-releases and not a part of the set). There has been nothing but silence concerning anamorphic for those two.

Ah, the wait pays off. I have never owned any Kubrick titles, October will be very sweet tasting for me.

I can't wait to get this. I only own Dr. Strangelove so there will be no dipping for me. I'll probably grab it in the next 20% off sale.

Definitely getting the set. Only have FMJ and I have had the other movies on my wish list. This is the perfect time to purchase.

Is Warner releasing a high-def version of that box set?

Yeah... that thread doesn't shed any more light on the subject than this one. It's all speculation. All I'm saying is that early ad copy for sets like this is often error/omission ridden, and I'm not giving up hope yet. Anyone remember the "4-disc" Almodovar collection? Plus, if you look at the listing on Warner's own site, it lists all of the titles that you all have been talking about and then says that there are 9 discs. But the listed discs add up to 10; error number one...

I'm not yet convinced that this ad copy (no matter how many sources you check the same copy at) is 100% accurate.

If this price doesn't change too much then by the time the 20% sale comes in late Nov - early Dec, the price will be around $46.80 which would be a pretty sweet deal. I just got $26 net (after Amazon comission and shipping cost) for Clockwork and 2001 in anticiptation of this set. So I don't mind paying an extra 20 to get the other titles as well. Can't wait.
