Yeah my email was also like that but assumed it was the natural course of things. I'm glad it is.

Damn. Another one of those crappy companies that doesn't respond to customer service e-mails. I would have loved to take advantage of that special, but I've vowed to not do business with any company that ignores legitimate inquiries by e-mail.

Did this over the weekend and will be sending the box later today. Includes seasons 1-8 of Stargate (since I will buy the complete set) and most of the seasons of Sex & The City (since I already own the complete set). All in all, over $300 worth of discs.

Have they done this before in the past? And if they did.... how long ago was it? Just wondering if I should hold onto my 500+ DVDs or just unloading them. I read some previous threads on ebaying them... but.... there's just too many and I'm too damn impatient

It's been quite a while... I think they do it maybe twice a year? That's why I was so happy to post it!

Oh well... thanks for the original post anyways.

Maybe I'll list all the titles on here first... but then again I hate going to the post office...

Just got an e-mail from SecondSpin.com that they accepted all the DVDs I sent them, and my check, including the 20% extra, will be on its way soon.

Thanks again, OP!

Worst of all, I can take it to an FYE or Suncoast store and get 25% in credit (plus 10% with the backstage pass) already, usually on top of their base price (listed on the web sites).

As for me, i'll wait for dvdplanet to come back up at the end of august. The price difference would be worth the risk.
Suncoast gives 10% more for trade-ins with backstage pass??? I didn't know that...

Still waiting to hear as well. I do use delivery confirmation, so I know they received my stuff yesterday. It's always about 10 days to ship from Minnesota to SoCal using Media Mail.

Got my e-mail yesterday. They accepted all but three of the dvds I sent, so I'm still getting $200+ for my trade-ins.... which is why I LOVE this promotion when it comes up!

Well, I suppose that's open to question after all. I just went to Suncoast today and tried to get that 10%, but the guy acted like I was an idiot. (He also said he didn't know if he could buy some unopened dvds I was trying to sell, because the he didn't know that they "weren't stolen." The thing is, it was vol. 1 of 4 volumes, and only 2 through 4 were sealed. What's that tell you, Einstein...) But I've been given 10% extra from both FYE's in Oklahoma, and both are pretty convinced that the Backstage Pass guys are entitled to it. Hopefully they're not wrong because they're the ones that had me convinced.

My package arrived there on the 7th and I just got the email for today. They accepted everything but five of my CDs that they say were scratched (and I think they were).

Anyways, I'll be getting a check for $184.70 for my useless DVDs, games, and CDs!

Thanks again OP.

My turnaround time from date of delivery to secondspin to the money being deposited in my Paypal account was 3 days.

I opted for store credit and it showed up in my account today. Does secondspin ever offer sales (X% off) or special promotions (e.g., free shipping)? If they do, I'll wait for the next one to come around; otherwise I'll use my credit now.

Yeah, they do stuff like that quite often actually. Just make sure you receive their emails or check this forum.

I just got my order summary. Everything was accepted and a check should arrive in three days. Whole process took about two weeks. Thanks OP

Well I've run into problems. I shipped $126 worth of stuff via Media Mail with Delivery Confirmation on July 27th. Tracking shows it was processed through 2d Spin's local P.O. a week ago (8/7). Now THEY CAN'T FIND THE ORDER. Which really p's me off as I'm also fighting with Wherehouse.com to get my money. (They claim my check was mailed July 11th and it hasn't shown up yet.)

In their defense, this is the first problem I've had with 2d Spin in the four or five years I've been selling to them.

Got my e-mail today, too. They accepted everything, although the total was slightly lower than the initial quote: I found when packaging it all up that I'd traded Chinatown away to someone a few weeks prior.
