The second MTV discount code is arriving! Check your e-mails!

DVD Section

Figured this deserved a thread of its own, since the last one is so long already and marked "Dead".

Get more free money from MTV! Thanks for taking our free money last time. Now get the rest of it... Use the code FREEMONEY2* when you checkout using PayPal to get $10 off your order of $30 or more. Offer good through 9/30/07.

*Offer good for one redemption per person and is valid on PayPal orders only. MTV reserves the right to cancel any orders deemed abusive.
Enjoy!

(ETA: Don't forget to do a search for "free shipping"... there are 16 dvd items and 41 music items that come up!)

I got the email, too, but I don't know if I'm interested now that there is a $30 minimum.

Hooray. I have a little cash left in my Paypal account, so I might as well waste it. Thanks for the heads up. I hadn't got the email yet.

EDIT:
I'm not sure this is a bargain anymore, once you factor in the $30 minimum, the tax, and the $4-5 shipping charge. The last time they ran this, you got automatic free shipping, right? Is that no more?

I too will say that this is no longer very hot. Thanks for the heads-up though!

There are some items that are marked as free shipping (see my edit above), but beyond those, there is no free shipping this time, so... guess it just depends on what you're looking for and how desperate you are to get it.

I tried using it. I think the people who used the coupon last time were blacklisted.

I believe all orders $40 and up get free shipping.

I used the coupon last time and wasn't blacklisted. While I'm still not thrilled with their handling of the first time, kudos to them for following through with at least half of the deal. Too bad about the minimums for the deal and the free shipping this time, but at least we can get a few decent deals if we look hard enough.

Weird, cuz the email I received with the $10 off $30 specifically says:
"Oh, and you still get FREE SHIPPING! Get some!"
That is an exact quote...

Not true, at least for me. I had placed 4 orders the first time around, 2 were canceled, 2 shipped, and I got the email...

Mine didn't say that, BUT, when I checked the "rules" for the offer, it does say, "Free shipping may be removed at any time" so.... I guess someone will have to take the plunge and place an order lower than the standard free shipping threshhold but using the code and let us know if it applies!

I tried this last night, putting 2 things in my cart which actually totaled 40+ dollars. They have a big banner on their site which says orders over 40 ship free. It still was going to charge me for shipping. The Freemoney2 code took off the 10.00, but the shipping was 4.99. So I didn't place the order.

Just went back now and it said the estimated shipping was free on 2 items that added up to 34.00, so it looks like they updated the site. I was able to order and get free shipping and the 10.00 off.

It might be more worth it now. Hopefully I will just get charged once for 1 order.

Yup, Tomboymama is correct, they seem to have fixed the free shipping thing. I'm considering picking up "Apocalypse Now" and "Oldboy" for $22 shipped.

Don't forget that you can upgrade to 3-day shipping at *no additional charge* by the way.

Thanks! Free shipping on pretty much everything now. I ordered Weeds Season 2 for 20$. (not spectacular, but was going to get it anyways)

Couple of other good deals I noticed:
Larry Sanders season one for $20
Battlestar Galactica the Complete Epic Series (the original) $33
2 Farscape starburst sets for about $20.

Didn't realize you could upgrade the shipping that would have been nice. Doh.

Just out of curiosity, has anyone who didn't place an order last time been successful using the coupon this time?

After careful consideration, at $32, this is a great deal. 4 series and a feature length special...and the show is friggin hilarious!

Dang, they wised up at limited this to 1 use this time, I was going to get in on that New Statesman too, but I suppose it'll be that price at DD with the 20% sale. I also just noticed that Big Train is now out! I need to get that.

The FIREWORK sale is still on at the comedycentral store, but shipping tempers that a bit.
