Several of my discs have light scratches on them. I don't know if it is worth the trouble of going through the exchange process though. I've tried most of them and they seem to play fine.

so far, out of the ones i watched, only from russia with love (main feature) would not play. no scratches or anything i just get the message cannot load disc. the bonus disc plays fine. don't know if they would make me send everything back just to replace one movie. might just pick one up at a b & m and do a switcheroo. are the single disc frwl the same disc as the one that i have? i would imagine the content is the same but is the disc art etc?

Yeah, that is a more troubling thing to hear. Mine look perfect, but I shouldn't have to sit down and watch all 25 before the return period expires to determine if they are actually without defects all the way through.

There is a thread somewhere in the DVD Talk forum with a phone number and address if you have problems. Fox Home is handling the issues. You could also try them before buying the single disc.

More packaging blunders. The sets arrived today and the first thing I checked was for all inserts and discs to be accounted for. The FRWL I received contained 3 discs. The extra disc was another Feature Film disc. It was loose, but not scuffed up. From the posts about playability I have yet to check if they will play or not. Also, my Volume 2 set contained the 007 Scene It Best Buy exlcusive disc. Did anyone else get this?

My set was missing the Goldeneye booklet and instead had two For Your Eyes Only booklets. Also, about five or six of the discs had scratches on them. Contacted Amazon and they are sending me a replacement set (the entire 4 set bundle!). After it arrives, I'll send back the defective set (they are sending a pre-paid label). If I need to, I'll mix and match from both sets to arrive at a good keeper set. Can't complain at all about Amazon's service here -- they were very polite and helpful and getting this fixed has so far been hassle free.

I received one in the replacement set they needed to send me. I also noticed
while piecing together a good set that there were 2 versions of the disc art for
The Man With The Golden Gun special features disc (2 different bond girls). Is
one a fixed version (and if so which should be kept) or is that just random?

just opened up all of my cases to make sure I got all the right booklets and no scratches. To my relief everything was fine. I played my FRWL disc and that worked too. Were those the biggest issues with this set? Can I stop worrying now?

I received my replacement set this afternoon and ended up only having one 'repeat' scratched disc, which was Moonraker. Rather than bothering Amazon again, I'll contact the Fox Customer Service number and request an exchange. Of course, I have yet to play any disc so far, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that there are no glitches.

Live and Let Die DVD Splattered
I checked my sets today and my Live and Let Die movie disc was the only one I found a problem with. It is not scratched but it looks like something was splattered on it. I tried it in my player and It seemed to work fine. Also some of my program books were damaged also. I guess not to bad for $6.25 per movie.

Figures, not paying attention in the middle of the night, see this thread for the first time and get excited, only to find out the deal is old and dead. Really need to retitle these threads when a deal is dead.. oh well.

I got my replacement set from Amazon and I went through Vols 1 and 2 last night, mixing and matching to create one clean set. There were scratched or scuffed discs in both sets, but so far not the same disc twice. I'm really looking these over carefully because I know this is my one chance to get it right, and I'm not going to watch 20 movies plus special features in the next few weeks to make sure they're clean.

I still can't get over the one disc in my original set that had an obvious manufacturing defect in it. It looked like a discolored ink 'blob' that was beneath the surface. Good luck all.

I also had one booklet that was bent in the original set because someone carelessly closed the slipcase on it. Also, the replacement set wasn't as well packaged as the first set, so 2 boxes had their corners dinged.

Yep, this is becoming a lot of hard work! I spent about 2 hours last night comparing all the discs in my two sets (original set and replacement set) for Vol 1 and Vol 2. In some cases, the same disc in both sets had scruff marks on it so I had to spot-check that the best-looking disc played by playing a few scenes here and there. Did this for all the feature-film discs and all the bonus discs. Like I said, it took me about 2 hours. And I still have to do the same thing for Vol 3 and Vol 4! It's just not worth trying to get a 2nd replacement set (3rd set total), so if the best-looking scuffed disc seems to play by spot-checking a few scenes, then I'm just gonna keep it.
