Well, I got my $125 UE Bond set, but I'm disappointed because it got dropped on its corner, and set #4 has a big nasty ding in it. Dammit!

Exact same thing happened to my set.

Amazon packaging is worse than I remember... they shrinkwrapped the four sets together, but then put it in a huge box with no other padding in the box...

Same, but in my set #1 was crushed in two corners, and my set #2 has a warp in the top where the shiny paper is supposed to stick right to the set. Oh well!

I completely forgot that I ordered this! I think I put it out of my mind because it was listed as backordered. My wife told me on the phone a box from Amazon arrived and I'm thinking it was the CD of "Infinite Rider on the Big Dogma" that I recently ordered. It was . . . plus the Bonds. Nice!

So, am I stuck with this damaged vol #4, so do I just return the entire 4-set collection and move on.

Try taking it to a B&M and see if you can exchange it for an undamaged copy. Claim you got it as a early/late birthday present from some distant relative.

Even easier-buy 1 from a B&M and take back the Amazon copy with that receipt for a refund.

I'd contact Amazon - I've had good luck with returns due to damage.

Yeah, this was my first thought as well. The few times I've had problems with Amazon, they've been very good about making things right.

As others have said, give Amazon the ability to right this problem. I would be surprised if they didn't replace vol. #4 separately, but if they elect to replace the entire set, it's at their shipping cost, etc... Also, be sure to mention to the Amazon rep that the set was shipped without any padding, which certainly contributed to it being damaged in transit.

got mine yesterday in excellent condition. I haven't opened them up yet, but I hope I got all the right inserts/booklets.

Well, the problem was that there was a 2-pocket air padding only on one end inside the box (making it lopsided because 4 box sets are heavy), and the packer could have just split the air padding pockets, and put one on the the left side and the other pocket on the right side, and most of the issues with the lopsided box would have been alleviated, and it would not have sustain the damage on the corners.

Got my Bond set today (with green Acres S3)
Packing was only on one side of my box also
Green Acres was on the other.
But my UPS driver is a good guy and didn't drop mine at all.
No damage to any of my sets.

Just got mine in the mail, One corner was dented but still a great set. I am lookin got dive into these really soon. Thanks to the OP!!!

I had to request a replacement set from Amazon since all four 007 boxes had 1-3 discs that were scratched (the inserts were fine). All I know is that when I spend $125, or even as little as $15 for a single dvd, I expect my dvds to be flawless. Thankfully, Amazon has always been great for me and it is not their fault, but rather MGM's shoddy QC.

Beat me to it...I had the same problem when I received mine a few days ago. I had about the same number of scratched discs per box. I also had one disc that clearly had some kind of flaw in the form of a large discolored spot within the disc. The rep at Amazon said that they wouldn't replace the set if the discs were only scratched...they had to skip. Needless to say, mine skipped Amazon is replacing the set and I should receive the new one in the next day or two. Make sure you check the underside of each disc under a good light to check for damage. All it takes is a little piece of dirt between the case and the disc to cause damage.

this is getting me a little worried. i got mine a few days ago but haven't opened it yet because I have so much other damn stuff to watch. I guess I'll open them up tomorrow.

Amazon is having me ship the entire 4-boxset back to them (after I receive the replacement set). Fingers crossed on the packing job for the replacement set...

For everyone finding scratched discs...were these 'floaters', or were they still attached to the hub?

All of mine were attached to the hubs. It's simply poor qc from the plant where they're manufactured (Mexico?).

Also, I had real difficulty removing one of the outer slipcases to get to the inner box that houses the dvd's. The inner box started to tear at the seam in the middle (on the bottom). If one has difficulty, I suggest they press the top and the bottom of the outer slipcase at the same time as they slide out the inner box. This seemed to help.

It's a shame these sets have been so troublesome for dvd collectors like those on this board, as it is obvious that the dvd manufacturing process has been getting more lax for years.
