Got Idi Amin Dada: Self Portrait doc from CC. Never knew CC released this....

elektrohog 03-02-07 10:13 AM

why doesn't the title of this thread give dvdplanet a little credit too?
everyone is ordering from dvdplanet and not DDD because of coupons and FB points.
perhaps a little "DDD/dvdplanet criterion sale" would be more informative in the title so you don't have to read through the thread to know the sale is at more than one vendor- and you can use coupons.
no, i do not work for dvdplanet!

i've placed hundreds of orders thru dvdplanet and if the title is IN STOCK, my credit card is charged immediately- even though it might take up to 3 days for them to ship it (if you don't use a premium shipping method).

Jaymole 03-02-07 10:54 AM

When I started the thread, DVD Planet did not have them on sale.

obviously, but a moderator can change it.
and btw, thanks for the heads up!

I just wanted to say it seems like DD changed a bunch of their prices. I know Asphalt and Warning Shadows were more than 14.38 each a few days ago. I also know Red, Blue, and White, were each cheaper than 9.44 a few days ago.

It's interesting that DVDPlanet coupon scales are opposite of most stores. Others structure coupons to encourage larger purchases, but here the $5 off $50 is the greatest percentage off. I know, it's not a big enough savings to put too much mental energy into trying to put everything into $50 combinations (which doesn't work well with $24 Criterions), but it's just an observation.

Ahh.. good to know. Can you use multiple March codes or do you only get one shot per month?

Thanks!

Edit: I think the previous post answered my question.

DamingR 03-02-07 02:26 PM

couldn't find Robocop? maybe its not on sale.

CardiffGiant 03-02-07 03:24 PM

Is it possible to use a DVDPlanet coupon code AND GCO ($10)? I've been sitting on mine, waiting to use it.

No, the reason is because RoboCop (CC #23) has long been OOP.

It's out of print.

I'm surprised this thread isn't more active. I think everybody was spoiled (and their funds depleted) by the DVDPlanet 20% off and $10 off $30 deals.

g 03-02-07 07:09 PM

They took preorders off sale at dvdplanet which makes it a lot less appealing to me.

jackson walker 03-02-07 08:35 PM

"Pandora's Box" is a great "blind buy" for those of you on this board who like silent films. I picked it up a few months ago during the last sale at DDD. Louise Brooks has to be seen to be believed, and Criterion did another one of their great presentations.

Not everyone. I had an incredibly poor experience with my first attempt at ordering from DVDPlanet and won't be ordering from them ever again.

PopcornTreeCt 03-02-07 08:59 PM

The Paul Robeson set is $20 cheaper at DVD Planet. Shop there!

No! Not even the genius of Paul Robeson can sway me! :)
