Not really related, but I have find memories of the old People's Drug stores. As a kid, they were my primary source for candy, birthday and mother's day gifts, and comic books.
They were bought out by CVS in 1990, although it seems longer ago than that.....
I'll check out the next CVS I drive by.

Also if no ones mentioned yet CD's are also 75% off. Nothing great but a lot of older "best of" titles.

osco = savon. they are both owned by the parent company, american stores. same thing then with jewel = albertsons = acme and i'm sure there are more in there somewhere.
cvs purchased all STAND ALONE osco's. you will still see them in with jewels or whatever else they call themselves. there was a big rebranding a few years back.
to add to the actual thread, i'm traveling on the road and went to a CVS here in the Philly area (King of Prussia) and didn't see squat. no dvds in site.

Thanks for responding.

Damn, I wish I would've known that. Thanks, though! I might have to go back and check. I didn't see the sign, so I didn't really look to see what they had.

Thanks OP. I checked two CVS stores in Albany yesterday. You have to hunt for the DVD clearance bin. Found Captain Corelli's Mandolin for $3.25 and Pleasantville for $2.50.
Two more today, one had Ghost and Hart's War for $2.50 each

I visited 2 CVS stores, and both had the 75% off. Went a little crazy picking up some mediocre titles, but I figured the wife and/or kids would like them, and they're cheaper than a rental!
I picked up:
Sweetest Thing $3.00
Primal Fear $2.25
Red Dawn $2.50
Robocop $2.50
Get Shorty $2.50
The Program $2.25
Nothing But Trouble $2.25
The Distinguished Gentleman $2.25
Battle of Britain $2.50
Out of Time $2.50
The Contender $2.25
Nine Months $2.25
Rugrats Go Wild $2.25
Meet Strawberry Shortcake $2.50
Poohs Grand Adventure $5.75
Total: $39.50 for 15 DVDs (Avg=$2.63 per DVD)

The one nearest to me did sell DVDs though, I'll have to go look tomorrow and see if they have anything. Doubt they'll have much, but maybe I'll get lucky and find some Disney like a couple people have mentioned.

Nice find! I don't think mine ever had box sets.

Picked up Something's Gotta Give, A Guy Thing (my older copy was freezing), and 3,000 Miles to Graceland for right at $10.00. Not a bad deal.

Just got Ultimates 2 for $3.50, Working Girl $2.00, Casualties of War $1.80, and Beautiful Girls $1.80. Not a bad find. There should be opportunites to find a lot of older or OOP Disney cartoon movies as they don't usally seel out when they were $24.99 and they could sit there for years.

I stopped by the CVS near my job, and I picked up Jerry Maguire, Funny Bones, and A League of Their Own for $2.50 each.
