I never saw the pin, but the Cars one was pretty stupid looking, I can only imagine the same for Pirates. Never saw the shirt at Wal Mart, just the bonus cd, and the cd was only with the single disc for $19.99.

That's fuckin' lame! They're real wishy-washy at Best Buy with price matches & bonus stuff for me. I had no problem getting the CC price match AND the bonus disc today but ALWAYS have problems price matching and getting the Disney plushes when they're offered.

Lucky! What's on it? Anything worthwhile?

I price matched Circuit City's online price of $19.99 and got the bonus disc at Best Buy. If a Best Buy employee tells you the store won't give you the bonus for price matches, you should tell them either that the bonus disc, according to the ads, is free if you buy it at their store and if they want you to buy it there, to give you the disc, otherwise tell them you'll go to Circuit City to get their deal with the bonus disc.

Same deal at my Blockbuster Video, PrivatePixel. Only singles. But I was able to convince the manager to give me the tin... for free. I really lucked out on that. I also was able to score the bonus disc from Circuit City for free too. But I did buy the SE for "Star Trek VI", but my copy didn't come with a booklet/insert.

It think it sucks that Wal-Mart is making you buy the single disc version in order to get the bonus CD. It really should be packed with the two disc set.

Anyhow, here's the screen snap for the Best Buy bonus DVD.

Since CC put "low price" in their ad (precisely so I could not PM it without great difficulty), I decided to get the 2-disc edition (without any freebies) for $22.99 - $10 MIR at FYE. I haven't seen anyone mention that in-store deal. I know people don't like FYE rebates, but so far the only times I've had trouble with their rebates is if you buy more than 1 item with a rebate per week.

As much as I'd like to get all bonus DVDs for movies I like, since so many stores have different exclusive discs it's impossible and financially impractical for me to buy them all. So instead of buying them all I usually figure if I'm going to miss any I might as well miss them all. I doubt that was the psychology they were expecting, but sometimes I'm an all-or-nothing kind of person.

That's what I did, basically. It was $24.99 at Suncoast - 10% for backstage pass - $10 rebate = $12.49. Plus I got the free film cell (which looks decent, but they aren't unique cells--they are all the same) plus I used a gift card!

I also got the BB DVD without buying the movie, and the walmart T-shirt without buying the movie. No interest in the CC demo game...

PMed CC at BB to get my preorder for $17.99 and used a $10 GC leftover from a "free" purchase with BBB last week to bring it down to a little bit over $8 after tax. Also got the exclusive litograph in the mail yesterday (free email offer for rewards members).

Please explain about the lithograph. I'm a rewards member, and didn't hear anything about it...

They sent RZ members an email to log onto the site to get a free lithograph. I got the email, but within 2 hours, they were all gone.

YMMV -- Toys R Us ad lists "Free $5 Gift Card when you buy Pirates of the Caribbean 2 DVD" ($19.99 - $5 GC = $14.99). The first time I looked at it I thought it meant the 2-disc version ("2 DVD") . . . worth a shot on a price match!

I got my lithograph as well, but it had been folded up to fit in my mailbox. So it's basically ruined. Anybody else have that problem? bleh

Bobblehead from Best Buy. It's going in my living room. Saw the companion bobblehead at Suncoast last night...

Could you please share how you did that? The few times I've asked at BBY or CC in the past for something like a bonus DVD without buying something, I've been turned down because they say they have to follow the terms of the promotion. I don't even waste my time asking any more. So unless you have buddies that work there, I'd like to know how you did it... especially on release day.

Too bad the studios/stores never put the bonus content on a web site after a certain time for download. So I've mostly resigned myself to the fact that I will end up missing 99% of the bonus DVDs because I'm not willing to pay $5-$10 more to buy at a different store with a bonus DVD.

I bought 24, and walked up to the counter and checked out, but I never handed her the bonus disc. After it was rung up I said, "oh, did you need to scan this?" but I didn't really give her a good look at it. She said, "nah, don't worry about it" and off I went... As for the T-shirt, I was going to buy the movie. But they wouldn't check me out in electronics. They just handed me the shirt and said to check out up front. I put the shirt in my jacket pocket and headed up front to check out. The lines were too long, so I put the movie down and left...

I never got that email. I even double checked my account. And I don't delete many emails at all... But I probably would have missed the 2-hour window anyway. Still, I'm kinda bitter... I have a huge lithograph collection.

I know how you feel. I was really disappointed, because it's just about the only exclusive lithograph I'm missing.

Yesterday, I picked up the 2-disc set at Best Buy for $12.99 plus tax when I had them price match an ad from Nebraska Furniture Mart. I'm pretty sure that the price was for the regular 1-disc version, but the cashier didn't bother looking at the ad and price matched it anyway.

The bonus disc i can kinda see, but the shirt thing seems like a bit of shoplifting.

What did Wal-mart have the 2-disk for?

I thought of that after I got in my car. It wasn't planned that way... But the exact words from the lady who gave it to me were "Make sure they don't try to charge you for that, it's free"... She didn't actually say I had to buy the DVD...

Kenbenobi, thanks for explaining how you got the free bonus DVD. In other words, it was luck and not a strategy that would be guaranteed to work every time.
