is the 3rd disc packed inside of the case? Just got one and it has the 3rd disc sticker, but didn't see the disc.

There is so much confusion in this thread I'm having a hard time knowing what is what. Can someone please explain this a little better. And word it so it makes sense?

What i get from this thread is if you print out the page on the CC online website and take it into the store you will get the 3 disc version of superman returns?

The picture on the CC online site only says 2 disc special edition though? but does the dvd under the sleeve in the store say 2 disc special edition also? am i correct on this?

The only difference between the ad and the actual 3 disc dvd is the sleeve?

And also do the UPC numbers match up. What if they ring up the dvd and it comes out to like 25 or something? is that when i show them the piece of paper and said its advertised for 13.99?

Please reply to this quick. I get off work in 2 hours (4pm) and i'm going to CC to pick up 1 or 2 copies if this is explained bettr and works.

Thanks

And do

If you can't get to the store and you want it I'd recommend ordering it, I remember a huge DVD misprice on circuitcity.com a few years back that they honored 100%. There's no way they send the 1 disc edition. And if you can't find the lithographs at your store you're not looking hard enough, at Rockville, MD they had 100 or more sitting in boxes next to the register in the DVD section.

That's exactly what I ended up doing. I had no problems what-so-ever getting them to honor the $13.99 price.

Sweet!! Got my local CC to match the website price and got the lithograph and package with the bonus disc (NG Documentary).

I've already got the Ultimate collection on order from Barnes & Noble, but with the great price I got on the collection and the CC price mistake on SR, I couldn't resist getting both!

The 2 Disc version of Superman Returns at the B&M Circuit City stores has a slip case on it that states it is a special edition which includes a special bonus DVD. This Bonus DVD has the National Geographic documentary on it. If you remove the slip case the edition looks exactly like the picture on the web site. The slip case has a hole where the UPC is and so the UPC read, is the one off the inner DVD case. I took a printout of the ad along with the B&M version of the DVD(2 disc + National Geographic disc) in the store to the Customer Service counter and they honored the price no problem. I also received the lithograph. Hope that helps.

Thank you very much. That definately cleared it up. I just got confused when people were talking about UPC codes and slip covers and customers saying tough, it may be a wrong dvd in the slip cover etc.

But now it's all cleared up. I already printed out the ad that was on the CC website. Now I have to wait another 52 minutes until I get off work. Then i'll take a trip to CC and show them the online print out ad and hopefully they wont give me any beef and I get the movie for 13.99. OR ELSE *cracks knuckles*

two things, I printed up the ad when it was advertised at 13.99. Think they will still take it?

And secondly

Won't Wal-Mart match the price if you take the printed ad. into the store?

Forgive me, you're quite right. I bought this at the same time as the f.y.e. release of CLERKS II, which does feature a third (bonus) disc in a nondescript white sleeve. Got my signals slightly crossed there...

I checked online at 9am, hit the VT store at 930. Nothing but problems. The manager behind the counter (not the store mgr) really had no idea what the hell she was doing. Told her the 13.99 price and she corrected me like I was a child. "That's only on the 1 disc set!" And started ringing me out. I told her I checked online not half an hour ago and the price was there. She went to check and had difficulty navigating her own company's website. She said they are only selling the full screen Superman Returns single disc on the website. At one point I just offered to take control of the mouse and show her. She didn't seem to like the idea so I just pointed and said, "Click MORE."

She does and finds the special edition. And then refuses to match it because of the generic picture on the website that doesn't mention the bonus disc. She points to the sticker on the one I handed her and said, "This is a 3 disc Edition, the one online is only a 2 disc." I tried to explain it to her but she maintained that I was paying 22.99 because of that 3rd bonus disc that is available for limited time only. I would've laughed if I wasn't so frustrated.

She then volunteers to price match a competitor. Goes to Wal Mart's website and types in Superman'. Yup complete with apostrophe at the end. And gets very confused when she can't find the dvd. I should have known if she didn't know how to surf her own site, how could I expect her to search anothers? And besides even if she found it she wouldn't have matched because Wal Mart doesn't have the Circuit City bonus disc!

I really wanted the bonus disc, it's a great documentary. I just paid 22.99 and left.

With her attitude I was afraid to even mention the stack of lithographs she had behind the counter. I kinda wanted one of those too.

stopped at the Raleigh Crabtree location on the way home yesterday and got the $13.99 price honored with no problems. it sounded like I was not the first one to ask about it, since the guy answered my question (before I asked it) as soon as he saw the DVD in my hand.

Good to hear they are still honoring the 13.99 price. I was going to not even bother trying, but since I have the 13.99 version printed out from the CC website yesterday (29th) I think I will try today. I'm going to make up something and say to them that my brother got it for the 13.99 price aqnd they honored the price for him no problem so will you guys do it for me?

I've had almost the exact same experience trying to show Circuit City employees their own website! I think they mistype words on purpose to try to somehow show that the customer doesn't know what they're talking about.

I went to Circuit City to get a DVD recorder 2 weeks ago. I had the model number which is the number I used to find it on their site. The price on the shelves didn't match the lower price on their site. So they go to the website and type in half the model number. No results. Then the model number without the "-" in it. No results. Then all the numbers except for the last one. No results. I corrected this guy every step of the way. Every time he ignored me. He finally gave up and went to the "dvd recorders" section of the site and spent a few minutes going through each and every recorder until he found the one I was talking about.

Here's a screen shot of the page with the $13.99 price for anyone who still needs it (had it open still here at work):

OK, just so I am clear. If I print out the ad that Alfredog1976 was nice enough to post up (I just turned 30 too bro, I hate it) that says $13.99 for the 2-Disc SE, I will really be getting a secret 3rd Disc in a nondescript white sleeve as well as a lithograph? I just want to be sure before I start haggling w/ the CC staff. I make it a point not to buy from there b/c their Customer Service is atrocious and there is never any place to pay for anything. And don't get me started on the organization of the DVD section! Anyway, if someone can get back to me, it would be much appreciated!

Thanks!

My mistake--I bought it the same day as the f.y.e. CLERKS II bonus disc, which is in a nondescript white sleeve, and got the two mixed up in my head when I posted. The SUPERMAN bonus disc is in a sturdier cardboard sleeve with movie-themed artwork.
