Maybe, but raising prices from $49.95 to $50 makes the items eligible for the Google Discount so I'm not sure that "jacking up" is a proper description of what they're doing.

I think you mean it makes it eligible for the $20 off $50 instead of the $10 off $30, but yeah, I'm with you. During the $20 off $50 deal, I've been more than happy to see something priced at $52 rather than $45.

For example, a bunch of the Rhino CD boxsets like Nuggets, Nuggets II, Left of the Dial, Otis Redding, Los Lobos, etc., are priced right over $50. It's been great being able to pick these up for about $30 each with no need for filler.

Maybe not in this instance... but if you look back through this thread you can find many examples of prices raised $10-$20. I'd call that "jacked up".

I posted this over in the game forum, but some one might find in useful here. You can get a Sixaxis (it doesn't say Sixaxis, but it is made by the Sony Corp. and if you look at the section that lists other companies selling this and click on one of the links, that takes you to a Sixaxis) controller for the PS3 and a $21 blu-ray movie for less then $50 from Buy.com!

Yes, but moving things up from $38 to $50 is jacking up. They have raised Lost, Greys Anatomy, etc. Lots of titles that were high 30's to low 40's.

Anybody got a good filler for $0.01 or more? I'd like to get this controller, but I can't find a good filler.

So people have stated that some sticker books will be cheap and qualify for free shipping if over $25 (I'm not sure if the toal order has to be over $25, or just the order from that part of the buy.com store). I'm not sure if they work, but you might want to give it a try.

Bad news. Just got my daily "deals" e-mail from buy.com, and it included the following:

"Last Day!
$20 off $50 Coupon
See site for details. Expires today."

So get your orders in today.

Toys R Us is having $10 off $30 purchases w/ google checkout.

Handy for me because I just got a Leapfrog Leapster for my kids and they are having a buy one get one free sale on those.

So I got 4 of them, normally would cost $100 for $40 + tax (free ground shipping)

i ordered complete pluto vol. 2 and more silly symphonies and chose the natural se as the 3rd since it's the cheapest title i can find ($4.95). total after $20 off was $31.95.

I'm confused.

I'm going to assume that you guys are ordering these from Buy.com. If you ordered both WDTreasures from there, they're $29.05 each - together they'd be $58.10. Now since you got $20 off, i'm assuming your total order was $50 and after the $20 discount, you'd have a total or $38.10 for both collections. Right?

Actually I did the same as above. The newly released Disnet Treasure titles are only $23.50 each, of $47 with both. Using the $3.01 book posted earlier in the thread, you get $50.01-$20 for google. Excellent prices! But it only works on the recent wave of DTs

Typical Buy.bomb strategy: looks like they raised the price of Pluto to $29.05 but the price of Symphonies is still $23.50. They're probably using yield management software similar to the airlines.

My bad. I looked at the Hardy Boys/Walt Disney Treasures and just assumed based on previous prices when it was released last week (they were all the same price)...

Weird shit.
