Can anyone here recommend The Movie Hero? The DVDTalk review was very much for it, but I thought I'd ask some of you guys in this thread. It's only $9.59 after the discount.

That's what I was thinking. I got a shipping notice today and yesterday....but there is no way they shipped, unless USPS and UPS worked the Holiday.

I'm not sure how to interpret it. Friday was the observation of Veteran's day with postal administrative offices being closed, but mail being delivered and post offices open. Saturday there was no mail and post offices were closed but the way they word it it kind of sounds like mail was still being sent along it's way (just not delivered).

I went to the post office and shipped some stuff on Friday. I'm also pretty sure that I got the mail that day, and I know for a fact that FedEx delivered some stuff to me as well.

No, it doesn't.

Hey, monoploy is illegal,
No, it isn't. You are misinformed.

so what make you think the scheme of modifying prices B4 or during a sale is not?
The fact that there is no law prohibiting it.

shipping companies never close per se, they just don't have people distroing their packages. the mail isn't being delivered today, but stuff is still getting sorted and flown and driven.

True, no one forcing you buying anything from DDD. However, this forum lures people to at least check out the DDD website doesn't it?
If you weren't observing this thread while the original postings were being made, then you missed a few out of line posts using "f***" which were quickly deleted by the mods AND got the poster suspended. So you're missing some of the background and your defense of that poster's point of view is a little misinformed.

Ordered late Friday night. Didn't get the email until Saturday AM but didn't have a chance to post here until now...

This may be it except for Looney Tunes 4. I have a ton of stuff in my wishlist, but I just can't bring myself to order it. I have a little money now since all bills are covered until the 1st, and I get paid again on the 24th with some of my PTO cashed out... I want to have some money for BF but I'm not really planning on buying much then, for me it's about the experience...

But I do need some Christmas gifts...

Credit Card Fraud?

Although raising prices before a sale is annoying, it is not illegal. But what about credit card fraud?

I, and apparently others, had problems removing items from my cart. The DVDs remain listed in the cart but with quantity 0. The first confirmation email showed the items I didn’t want, but continued to show them as quantity 0 and the total was correct. Then a got another email that showed them as quantity 1 and that I was being charged for them ($70 btw). When I called them I got zero help.

Eventually this will be made better, but the fact remains I have been charged for something I did not buy – isn’t that the definition of credit card fraud? Not to mention the hassle of sending back the miss-sent DVDs. They have screwed up before, but this makes me furious. This is their mistake, so why is all the burden being placed on me?

No, it's not. But since you're using the dictionary, why don't you go ahead and look up the word libel.

Can we maybe end all this talk about "illegal", and "fraud", and whatever other legal theories you guys think apply to everyday situations with retailers. C'mon--monopolies illegal?? Talk to the cable companies. This stuff is getting bizarre.

For those of you who got charged for items that you thought were removed from your cart, it was a glitch from a legitimate e-tailer. It may be annoying, but jeez, it's not credit card fraud. With all due respect, when I noticed this same glitch as I was checking out, I made sure I hit "update cart" on the screen, which removed the titles listing "0" from my cart. So I took it upon myself to fix it, and if this hadn't fixed it, I would have had to make the choice of checking out anyway risking a mix-up. Some of you guys didn't fix it and checked out anyway. So now you'll have a little hassle clearing this up--it's annoying, but hardly the biggest deal in the world, and hardly fraud.

What's fun about this thread is looking at what other people are buying, maybe getting some new ideas for yourself, etc. Let's try to keep it going in that direction.

Not to mention that the claim of "monopoly" is completely ridiculous in this instance. You know, unless DDD is the only online website that sells dvds. lol. Seriously, I sometimes wonder what the school system is feeding kids these days. It sure isn't education.

Well said. I love how it's always a "New Member" who comes out saying OMG DDD is fraud. I've been ordering from their 20% off sales for years, as well as numerous other times during the year... and I've never been victimized by them.

Ridiculous.

That doesn't look half bad. Go ahead and buy it and write a review so I know whether or not to give it a try next sale.
