Took a quick look at my wishlist and the majority of it is still the same, a few went up but thats from sales ending. It seems that most of the stuff that they raised are the "hot" ticket items, which i didn't plan on getting anyways. I'll be happy if i can get half my wishlist in this sale, my mantra is "don't ask for too much and you won't be disappointed."

It's certainly not an across-the-board price hike as nothing in my wishlist has been affected.

The bottom is quite a bit deeper than the shelves to make it sturdy and ther top is plenty wide enough to display anything you might wnat to. The shelves themselves are as deep as a regular DVD, so everything fits pretty snug.
In my opinion worth the buy. It cost me $127.96 last sale same as this one. It ships from the vendor and took maybe about 2 weeks to get to me.

DavisDVD.com lists 48 titles. DVDPS lists the same 48, but with more permutations (FS, WS, etc). Here's the DVDPS list for 11/14. (Which shows Blade Runner - odd, eh?) The list also shows what the 20%-off DDD price should be and compares it to the best other price (incl shipping) online. Where another retailer is less expensive, I show which retailer that is. DDD-20% is almost always the better deal...

The price increases that hit me: (BOOO!!!!)
Fox and the Hound (Anniversary): $20.87 -> $21.45
Little Mermaid (Platinum/Special): $16.21 -> $21.45
X-Men 3: Last Stand: $15.21 -> $21.45
The Little Mermaid really pisses me off, because I specifically held off buying it from Best Buy, Circuit City, etc. so that I could get it cheaper from this sale.

Alot of prices that are increased are probably price matched prices so they're setting them back to norma pricing, you can not price match and get the 20% off, its one or the other.

ugh, after reading all about these price jumps, think I'll let my wishlist simmer a bit and skip this "sale".

*EDIT* After checking again, I realize that I was looking at the price for vol 3 & 4 of the James Bond Collection. Vol 1 & 2 are still $54.89 each, down from $7 a month ago.

Enough with all the whining that's going on today. If what you want goes up in price, buy it somewhere else. Simple as that. Noting a price increase is one thing, berating DDD is not necessary. (This comment not directed at the above quote).

It's good to know which titles have increased in price, since it will definitely help people make a more informed choice when the sale begins.
In addition, as the veterans have experienced, Dave from DDD often checks in around this time to see what people are saying about the sale. If items experience a price increase or are prices way out of line with other sites, he often steps in and gets someone to adjust the price on the website.
And in that spirit, Dave, DDD's price on Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (Ws) is among the highest on the net.

This past Summer sale wasn't that bad with price increases, but I remember that they went up on a ton of stuff in the last Fall sale. I think I only spent around $50 or so because they went up on pretty much everything that I was wanting to buy.
SInce it looks like they are pulling that again this fall, I doubt I'll spend much more than $50 once again, if even that much. I've already noticed a number of items in my wish list that have went up as well.

There's a simple solution: if you don't think you're getting a bargain, don't buy anything. I'm sure there will be enough DVD Talkers posting their money-saving orders to keep several pages of threads going for the 10 days of the sale, interrupted by the regular complaints:
"I placed my order 12 minutes ago, and haven't received an email yet!!!!"
"I ordered on Friday, it's already Monday and my order isn't here!"
"The title I wanted most in the whole world is now backordered!"
I just checked my wish list, with over 40 titles on it, and NOT ONE TITLE has had a price change in the past week. And if one or two do increase, I won't bitch about it, I simply won't buy 'em. I refuse to get agitated about one or two items when I'll probably be quite pleased with the other 38.
