Target Limited Edition Trilogies

My Target has two trilogies on the shelf with stickers that say "Target Exclusive Limited Edition" One was the Alien Trilogy and the other one was the Die Hard Trilogy. All three movies in each boxed set were housed in slim cases, and the price for both was $19.99 each.

They also had a Cheaper by the Dozen box that had the original Cheaper by the Dozen, the remake and Cheaper by the Dozen 2. That was also $19.99.

So what's exclusive about it? The fact that they have one LESS movie? Any extra features???

I assume the Die Hard set are all 1-disc editions (without the extras)?

I'm assuming these are the single-disc editions and not the 2-disc special editions?

I know. Which is why everyone has been commenting that they left the 4th one out...

are these the 1999 Alien DVD's or the deluxe 2003 discs extracted from the Quadrilogy?

It looks like to me from the packaging they are the old 1999 DVDs. Same with Die Hard. The Karate Kid one with 4 movies did state the first Karate Kid was the Special Edition version.

Bummer. I have the original Alien Legacy set, and I would consider getting the deluxe editions of the first three and getting rid of the fourth a worthwhile upgrade.

Just got back. Took forever and a year to find the darn things... they had them on a back aisle endcap by the boomboxes.

Anyhoo, the only other one I saw that hasn't previously been mentioned in this thread is an Unrated American Pie Trilogy.

They threw in some preexisting trilogies as well, like Back to the Future and Austin Powers. I did go ahead and get the Die Hard ones, which will help with our limited shelf space by replacing the VHS versions, so thanks again OP!

Saw these too, was going to take some pics but red shirt guy was looking at me funny.

Alien set is labeled three movie set, not trilogy, so i guess thats how they bypass it.

Both Alien and Die had use the old artwork from the original sets on both sides, and the spine just shows small covers for each movie, not a long Logo/title. There was also a Man with No Name Trilogy, like the old MGM set, just in slim cases.

So in other words, pretty crappy looking.

You should have just waited a little longer...red shirts never make it to the end of the episode.
