So the Die Hard discs are the original crappy non-anamorphic DVDs from 1999?

Perhaps they simply didn't want to have to use that idiotic made up word "quadrilogy"!
(for the record, not that anyone cares anymore--and I imagine no one ever did--but the word is 'tetralogy')

A lesson in redshirts - not to be confused with certain types of freshman college football players....

I wanna say it's just the first disc off of the 2-disc sets. I remember seeing a 3-pack of the Die Hard movies at Best Buy that had just that.

Anyone who has bought the Alien set: do these include both the theatrical and director's cut?

If you're interested in the Die Hard Set, you might be interested in the FYE B&M B1G1 sale. They're selling the Die Hard Ultimate Set for $25 when purchased with any another $50 set that's part of the sale. Take an additional 10% off with the Backstage Pass membership. Or get 2 and split it with a friend.

Just another note regarding the FYE B&M B1G1 on selected box set sale, I saw Back to the Future on that list for $27.99. If you pick up two copies, at $14/each or $12.60 after 10% backstage pass. They also had The Ultimate Matrix set with Neo bust for $54.99. Again, only a decent deal if you pick up two copies.

I purchased the Target 'Alien Triple Pack' which was on sale for around $14 a few months ago.

Last night I was at a Giant Eagle supermarket in northeast Ohio and noticed that they had both 'Alien' and 'Aliens' 2-disc Collector's Editions (from 2003) -- for only $5.98 a piece! They have several other good deals there too - for another week or so. Most seem horror related. Hopefully someone gets a chance to purchase these, in the rare event they don't have them.

I assume that studios are trying to clear out their DVD catalogs for HD-DVD and Blu-Ray, even though it seems way too premature to do that at this point.

A good reason to look out for great DVD deals!

See -- http://www.dvdtalk.com/dvdsavant/s90leonerev.html. I think they say 'Fistful...' and 'Good, Bad...' are in this set, but 'A few dollars....' may not be. It has some specs in the review...

This page shows what you'd be missing out on for 'Fistful'.

You may want to look at the negative reviews for this title on Amazon - or other specific reviews for this boxset. Amazon says the aspect ratio is 2.35:1...

I hope you've seen the basis of 'Fistful of Dollars' -- 'Yojimbo' by Akira Kurosawa -- and if you do, you'll also see the inspiration of John Belushi's samurai character! He even got to work with Toshiro Mifune in Speilberg's '1941', though I don't know if they were in any scenes together.

Target also had 2 sets of 3 movies each of the Rodgers and Hammerstein musicals list as Target exclusives. Didn't look closely so I am not sure which movies are together but these were the same films as the six movie set released last year grouped three and three.

also, if you buy wrong turn 2 at target, there are copies that have a coupon to save an additional $3 off either the alien 3-pack or the predator 3-pack (predator, predator 2, alien v. predator).

I was at Target and noticed that they had the Baz Luhrmann Red Curtain Trilogy for $12.99.

This one: http://www.amazon.com/Luhrmanns-Curt...2996531&sr=8-1

Seems like a pretty good deal as it includes the 2 disc Moulin Rouge, Romeo and Juliet SE, Strictly Ballroom, and a bonus disc.

I was at Target today and they had the Lord of the Rings boxset (Theatrical ones) for $19.99. Pretty good deal.

I noticed at Target around here they had the Wild Things trilogy (slimcase, with WT 1 being the unrated version).
