I saw 2 copies of The Chubb Chubbs at Big Lots for $3.
|
Finally got a restock here. No Sheena WS though. :(
But in addition to most of the other Sony titles mentioned I found: Mary Shelley's Frankenstein (Several FS copies, *but* I found a single WS/FS copy! It went home.) Stealing Harvard Married With Children - The Most Outrageous Episodes Volume 1 All $3 each. |
A few different titles at my BL today.
FX2 Carbon Copy NOVO Semi-Tough Losin' It The Blockhouse Johnny Be Good For A Few Dollars More The Mean Season Cadillac Man Alexander The Great (Burton) Moonstruck A Kiss Before Dying (Wagner) Hannah And Her Sisters Canadian Bacon Love Stinks Wake Of Death All $3 |
Went to another Biglots and they had alot of the stuff mentioned before. Some of the lesser mentioned stuff for $3 each:
A love song for Bobby Love Sheena (Fullscreen only) America's Sweethearts Hexed What planet are you from? Spun True Blue Tokyo Raiders Christine Things Change (a David Mamet film) Also saw a copy of Urban Legend that was 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen only. It said copyright 2006 layout and design, Mastered in High Definition. The copy I own is a flipper, widescreen on one side, fullscreen on the other side. Did Sony reissue this in widescreen only? I'm kind of surprised, since they have been known to downgrade alot of movies to fullscreen only. |

I finally found Ali: Director's Cut for $3 and Heroes: Season 1 for $4. I am hoping to find a WS Sheena, but no dice, not even a FS. Does anyone have any screencaps of WS vs FS of that certain scene/scenes :)

But I can tell you one thing - its one of the worst transfers ever. Every scratch and smudge from the original print has been preserved on it. Columbia Tristar did absolutely nothing to make the transfer stand out. But in any which way Tanya Roberts really stands out. Or makes yours stand out :-) |

Rats, wish I had not been to BigLots today - came back with a boatload of MGMs:
Losin' It (Tom Cruise, Shelly Long) Oleanna FX FX2 The Pit and the Pendulum (Midnite Movies) Die Monster Die (Midnite Movies) Jean de Florette (World Films) Rhapsody in August (World Films) La Cage Aux Folles II (World Films) Married To The Mob Novo The Block House Cuba (Sean Connery) Battle Of The Brave F.I.S.T (Sylvester Stallone) Joyride China Moon Four Friends Spaceballs (Mel Brooks 2 disc Collector's Edition) Mannequin (Andrew McCarthy, Kim Catrall) All $3 a pop. Am scared to hit the other BigLots near my place. |
Heroes was the NBC show and it was used. All the disc seemed in great shape, probally been buffed before being re-sealed
|
^ Looks like I'll be hitting my local BLs tomorrow.
|
Ok, I'm lost...is Heroes in the toilet because the person hates the show? Hates the DVD set? Just likes placing random objects into dirty bowls of water? Art form?
|
^ He did it to prove to the people on here that he did in fact buy it for cheap at Big Lots since he was the only one who found one.
It provided a good laugh back when it first happened. |
Spaceballs (Mel Brooks 2 disc Collector's Edition)
Good find. Wish I hadn't just bought the regular release outta the WalMart five buck bin. |
Jesse, did you find that in the Pittsburg store?
|
Here's some stuff I found today:
Bright Lights, Big City Huckleberry Finn also saw Robocop 2 and 3 |
I picked up "Capote" from a Big Lots today for $3.
Scanned the last couple of pages and didn't see it listed. |

I stopped by one of the local Big Lots this afternoon.
No MGM titles, but they did have a few $3.00 Sony titles which I hadn't seen in our area before: Texas (1941 western with William Holden and Glenn Ford) The Cutter (2005 - Chuck Norris) Mo' Money (1992 - Fullscreen) Nadine (1987 - Kim Basinger) Loser (2000 - Jason Biggs, Mena Suvari) Touch Of Pink (2004) Banjo Hackett: Roamin' Free (1976 western with Don Meredith, Chuck Connors, Anne Francis, Slim Pickens. Fullscreen, but since this was a made-for-TV movie, 1.33:1 is the correct OAR) I also bought a copy of the widescreen/fullscreen flipper of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein (this lone copy was mixed in on the rack with copies of the later fullscreen only release). I opened it when I got home and it is indeed the old WS/FS version. |

Saw Spaceballs (I already picked it up about a year ago at Target for $7.50) and a bunch of Robocop 3 copies at the local store yesterday.
|
Found Torture Garden which hasn't been mentioned, but not some of the new, desirable titles like Easy Rider.
