As a fan of the show, I would have to say...no. XD And I bought the series as it came out. There's no resolution and low budget animation which got worse as Reload and Gunlock came about. My hubby was pretty meh about the whole thing.

Go with Get Backers Season 1 instead. It's currently $34.94 at buy.com BEFORE coupon. Hubby liked it way better, even with 'the Bollywood style of delivery'. His quote not mine. ^^ He liked the girls too, especially Heven.

Though the set ends at the halfway point of the series, there's a conclusion. The second season is kind meh compared to the first, but I still liked it.

They've just raised the prices of a lot of DVDs by 5-7%.

Yeah they did, I just checked out the Detroit Red Wings Original Six dvd I bought yesterday. They raised the price by $2: $42.32 to $44.32. I also checked out the Dazed and Confused CC, it was like $35.87.

Geez. I wrote down prices of like 30 titles last night and EVERY single one is up. The ONLY good thing I could see now is that a couple of the Scrubs season sets are now $30.93 instead of $29.99 and can now be used with the coupon...............

I ordered Scrubs while it was 29.99 and it worked last week. I'm so glad I'm done ordering, everything went up almost 10%! Bring on DDD sale in a couple weeks!

I've been using the deal mainly to order books (DC Comics Archives, etc.) that I rarely find discounted...seems that most of the book prices have gone up, too. The only good part, as someone pointed out, is that a few of the books were pushed over the $30 minimum (my early orders required adding a second item to qualify...not a problem since they were items I wanted anyway & the earlier prices were lower than amazon & other etailers).

It's weird that the prices are still higher, though, now that the discount is no longer valid. They brag that their book prices are lower than Amazon's, but now that they've raised the prices on most books by around a dollar, that's not necessarily true.

Does anyone who has been keeping track on prices know if Amazing Stories Season 1 and/or the Seven Samurai Criterion (new one) went up in price?

I haven't read every post in this thread, but what store is selling all of these DVDs at $1.50 a pop?

The Seven Samurai (new one) was $32.99 (IIRC) when the Google promotion started, then went up $4 to $36.99. Now it is at $38.94.

Go into "search this thread", then search for the names, and you'll bring up the past discussions. A lot of us got in on Seven Samurai at the start of the sale for $22.99 ($32.99 less the $10 discount). That's the cheapest it's been. Others got it a bit more expensive. It now seems to be up to $38.94, with the free shipping taken away. So it's a worse deal now ($30.84 shipped).

Either he listed that wrong or there was a price mistake somewhere.

Wow, I had several items in my cart (DVDs and books) and they all suddenly got jacked UP in price since 2 days ago. Man, buy.com sure doesnt want to compete with Amazon, do they?

dvdempire.com have it for $1.50 a pop last night around 11:30pm & it went up today regular price.

Congrats on the score. I wished you would have shared the deal with the rest of us, but DVD Empire probably would have caught it and your order would have been cancelled. I'll have to check DVD Empire's site late night in hopes of another price mistake.
