Well, once again, DVD Talk has cost/saved me some money. (I was going to wait for my b-day, but this price was too sweet.)

Picked up two (one for me, one for my brother) of the last three at the Louisville, KY store on Shelbyville Road.

wildman1037 09-12-06 09:08 PM

Picked up one at the Shelby Township, MI store. Surprised to see how many Michiganders there are on DVDTalk.

I would tell those friends to try to pick up the set sooner rather than later; it really wouldn't surprise me to see CC bump these back to the circular price once they catch this on a wider scale.

Two funny things happened at my CC in Las Vegas. First 2 teenagers were ahead of me in line and the older one was berating his brother for buying Smallville. Then he noticed what I had in my hand and said, "see, he has good taste, he's getting The Office!"

Then when my turn came up (and it did ring up at $17.99), the cashier said, "The regular price on this is 29.99, I don't know why we didn't advertise it at the sale price!"

I'd just like to say that this is such an awesome set, the deleted scenes are awesome so far. I've watched the first three episodes so far, once again, and it seems even funnier now on DVD than it did when I first watched them on TV. Sexual Harassment is television perfection. The wait for season 3 hurts.

I ordered a Dwigt bobblehead a week or two ago, but it isn't shipping until the first part of Oct. I hear that they are selling far more of them than they ever expected to.

elsnerma 09-12-06 10:47 PM

Got it for the cheapo 17.99 price! Thanks OP!

wennma01 09-12-06 11:25 PM

this thread just convinced me to buy this...thanks op

kenbenobi 09-12-06 11:39 PM

Both of the stores in my town are sold out. :(

Al Padrino 09-12-06 11:50 PM

I watched the sexual harrassment episode with my mom, who I'd sold on the show a while back, earlier tonight. Heh, talk about some awkward moments.

Everybody loves Dwigt!

Yeah, I've been amazed at how good the deleted scenes are. Deleted scenes are normally fun to see as a curiosity, but are usually pretty disposable in terms of entertainment value. But man, some of the deletes from Season Two seemed even better than material that made into the show (and that's saying something, given how brilliant the show is). Case in point - Dwight trying to get Angela to tell him what was written about Michael on the bathroom wall in the deleted scenes from the Dundies episode.

Really, a lot of these deleted scenes convince me that The Office could just as easily work as a full hour show.

Also, props to the OP. I also got in the CC deal after seeing this thread. I was planning to just pick it up at Target because I was going to be shopping there tonight anyway. Thankfully, I checked the Bargain forum first.

I liked:

"Our next award goes to the most creative writing on the ladies room wall! Who wants to claim it? Who wrote it?"

*no one accepts*

"Great idea Dwight..."

Super X 09-13-06 06:22 AM

I hit the eastside location in Madison, WI after work last night and picked one up at the $17.99 price. The cashier wasn't even fazed at it coming up so cheap.

danpeake 09-13-06 06:40 AM

Can anyone confirm the deal is still on today (Wednesday)? I didn't see this post until last night. Thanks.

reefa 09-13-06 06:50 AM

As of about 8:00 last night, it was still at the Manassas, VA store.

I saw this thread yesterday at work before it had any replies and checked throughout the day to make sure it hadn't died before I could leave and go pick one up. Grabbed one in Melbourne, FL yesterday after work. Thanks op!

I think the best those who haven't gotten it yet can hope for are the lazy manager-types that don't bother to read urgent messages from home office.

Should be plenty of those. :)

Well, also, their local store might sellout....My store had about 4 copies from what I saw, but they were hard to find anyways.

Maybe they had more in the back, but who knows. If anyone wants this, they should go today.

vballboy51 09-13-06 09:13 AM

oh man i hope this is still available. i've been banning myself from buying dvds but this is high on my want list! lunch time CC run!!!

Raw_and_Vital 09-13-06 09:14 AM

Can anyone still verify that SEASON 2 of THE OFFICE is still indeed 17.99 at CC? I looked online and it doesn't come up as this price. Also the season of Firefly doesn't come up as 18.00 bucks either? Is this one of those (you have to go to the store) things to know it's on sale?

TGM 09-13-06 10:31 AM

As of 10:30am Wednesday morning, the CC in Natick, MA had a stack of S2 DVD's, clearly labelled as $17.99. It rang up as $39.99, but when I showed the guy the price tag from the display rack, he changed it without an issue.

Firefly isn't on sale at Circuit City this week. It's $18.99 at Target which is an in-store only deal. Target.com is linked to Amazon.com's prices.
