Re: DVDs at Ross - Dress for Less!

Glad all the confusion on the two Wizard of Oz sets was cleared up. I was losing sleep thinking that bigger set was out there somewhere for $6.99!

Also, for those that might be looking for it, the one I saw had a slashed UPC on the back. For a collectible type of item, that might make a difference to someone.

Also, those big sets are individually numbered to 24,000. The one I saw was a pretty high number FWIW. 23,876 I think.

Picked up Dogma: Special Edition (2-disc) today for $3.99.

Also saw Elvis set previously mentioned (4-5 2-disc films; $19.99) and Oliver Stone's JFK deluxe edition (2-disc with bonus documentary in thick box; also $19.99)

Re: DVDs at Ross - Dress for Less!

found a copy of inglorious basterds for $6.99. not only was I really glad to find a copy of one of my favorite films from last year for such a good price, but, when I opened it I found a little surprise, a set of 8 postcards with the cast members on them. this was a canadian release, I am not sure if the american release also had this little bonus or not.

Re: DVDs at Ross - Dress for Less!

I saw the following at the Turkey Creek, TN Ross. I hate myself for only having $6 on me at the time. Because I couldn't afford to pay the tax on $5.99 titles I walked out empty handed. Then they closed before I got back ...

Batman Begins (Limited Edition Gift Set) $5.99
Teen Titans: The Complete Second Season $5.99
Teen Titans: The Complete Fifth Season $5.99
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Volume 3 $3.99
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Volume 6 $3.99

Saw this and Sin City but didn't get either one because I know I'll never watch either one. I'm still hoping Ross starts selling Criterions for around $5-6 so I can start being more adventurous in my blind-buying.

By chance do you know if it was the 2 disc version, or was it a single disc?

Re: DVDs at Ross - Dress for Less!

Was at the Downtown Ross here in San Francisco, and found the 2 disc Wyatt Earp for 3.99 and picked it up (there were at least 3 or 4 copies after my pick up).

Also saw the 2 disc Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (1 copy, also for 3.99), Mystic River 3 disc (at least a couple of copies) and 2 of those The Two Towers Gollum statue sets.

Cool, thanks for responding.

I hit the downtown Ross again today and noticed that the filled in some new titles since my last run Friday. But nothing really got my attention. Although, I did see Miss Congeniality Deluxe and the combo (1 & 2 WS) for 3.99 each.

Oh yeah, one title I saw was Battlestar Galactica: The Plan. I believe it was 6.99.

They also had Pandorum for 6.99. That's all I remember in these wee hours. =)

Oh yeah, several copies of Halloween II (the remake theatrical edition) was in store too. I believe it was a single disc version and was also 6.99.
