My Wal-Mart didn't even have the $4.88 display, and I asked the guy if he could find Real Genius for me and he said if they had it, it would be in the $5.50 bin. Which it wasn't.
Too bad, because I'd finally talked myself into getting it, even though I have a fine version from TV and the dvd has no extras.

The most consistant thing about Wal-Marts around the country is their inconsistancy. The one closest to me (281@1604) had this display from the beginning but was very late getting the previous $4.88 display. The $5.50 bin (used to be two, only one now) moves around the electronics area ever so often. One thing about it though, the DVDs are kept in rows, spines up. The one at 1604@ nacogdoches intentionally jumbles up the bin. I've given up looking, at that store.

I checked three area Wal-Marts in the last couple of days and have struck out. Any other Marylanders have any luck?

If anyone's interested, I'd trade my Steven Seagal 2-pack (Above the Law and Hard to Kill) for Real Genius. Email me if interested.

My Wal-Mart had the $4.88 DVDs - lots of them. Some were in the $5.50 bin, and others were in a rack near the entranceway. I saw a lot of titles, but they've all been mentioned in this thread already. I do have a question about one of them . . .

BOA starring Dean Cain. What is the story on this? The case says full screen presentation formatted to fit the TV. Yet, the bar code # is the only one EBay has for this film, and there's no "This film has been formatted to fit your screen" frame at the beginning of the film. I thought that as a direct-to-TV / video film from several years ago, this would've been done in full screen anyway.

It's not a big deal -especially at $4.88 - but I am curious.

A Kind Reminder

Everyone please READ both Post #1 and #2 for the complete list. The List only contains SONY(Columbia/Tristar) titles. Other studio titles are not in this $4.88 Sale.

John Ritter as the Devil is my favorite part.

It was certainly worth picking up for $4.88. I also got my copy of Laurel Canyon, and the last copy left of GLORY (2 disc) that was there. Everything else I either already owned, or didn't want.

And of course, the store closest to me didn't have ANYTHING. I checked there first thing before work this morning, and couldn't find a display, or anything resembling one. Not even any of this stuff in their $5.50 bin - although that was overstocked to the point of riduclousness. You couldn't even pick up a DVD without a half dozen falling off the stack onto the floor. I even complained to a manager about the total unshopablity of it - not that they really cared. So in the end, I had to make an extended drive home from work, to the next closest store, where they did have them.

There is an additional Warner Brothers display with $4.88 titles at the Arboretum in Charlotte, NC. Titles included were

Stagecoach
Ace Ventura Pet Detective FS
Absolute Power
Lost Boys (single disc)
European Vacation
Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome
Scooby Doo (several titles, mostly "What's New..." stuff

and that's just what I can remember from two days ago. There were at least 30 titles, and it looks like they'd just put the display on the sales floor, as it was completely full and well organized. I went for the

COLUMBIA TRI-STAR

titles, and ended up buying 9 from that display and 4 from the

WARNER BROTHERS

display. Thanks to the OP ;-)

Sorry I didn't see the other studio $4.88 sale at my Walmart. Maybe yours is early. Besides, I don't think mixing different studio titles in the same list is a good idea especially me and OP have specialized that this is a thread for SONY titles. If you want do us a huge favor, please post a complete Warner Bros. $4.88 titles like we do in a seperate post or creat another thread. We certainly will appreciate that.

Perhaps the title of the thread should be changed.

The thread title didn't specify Sony titles, it merely stated $4.88 titles at WalMart. What difference does it make if Warner Bros titles are included in the same thread. Anyone visiting this thread is looking to see what $4.88 titles are available at WalMart. While you and possibly some others may appreciate a separate thread for the Warner Bros titles many, including myself, appreciate someone posting here about any and all $4.88 titles at WalMart, which is what the thread title stated.

Discussing this issue is pointless as it's been argued before many times. Walmart bargain DVD threads will always get wild and unorganized. I'm just trying to do people a favor by keeping the thread more organized, by telling people where to look and avoid increasing space of reposts. If my Walmart had Warner $4.88 sale, I'd certainly start a new thread. The OP is new and he doesn't keep updating his original post. As this thread keeps going, I'm sure less and less people will bother to read thread through all the posts, then posting valuble information in between will be wasted. As an experienced poster and understanding how information can be passed and served well to people, I'm trying to keep things as organized as possible, unfortunately I don't have too many opportunities to be the OP and some OP's do not update their original threads or giving the thread a good title hence the threads got less effective and many reposts have been generated.

I've learned a lot of from FW and I'm trying to contribute to this forum in an experienced manner. I suggest people not tangle in this issue and keep posting the newly found titles so others can benefit. Meanwhile, I will keep updating the #2 post.

Thanks ericn101! I was planning to stop there tomorrow from Corvallis (I have a meeting in Salem). Do you remember where in the store the display was located? Did you happen to see any copies of Real Genius (I already have Glory). Thanks

I have checked 4 Dallas area Walmarts (3 of them Super) and found no displays for Columbia/Tri-Star DVDs ... or any sign of the Glory (SE) ... anyone in Dallas-Ft. Worth seen them? ...
