I swung by 6 GS's in the past two days. One had "Short Cinema Journal No. 5" with Vin Diesel's "Multifacial" for $4.99. Of course, someone sat a coffee mug on it, spilled some, ripped off part the cover and some weird sticker was on it. Luckily, I got mine for $3.99 a month ago.
Although the ST:TNG sets have come down, a local GS had Seasons 1,2, 6 and 7 for $49.99 a piece, as well as Transformers: Season 1, so I figure I'll go back for 2 TNG sets, get the Transformers set for free, use my GameStop Value Card, save $10 making it around $96, sell the Transformers set for $40, making the TNG sets about $50 for the pair.

I was told that corporate sent two e-mails. The first was non-specific and some stores interpreted that to mean that DVD's weren't included in the sale. The second clarified that DVD's were included. I picked up all 7 seasons of ST: TNG and some PSP games.

I picked up two MST3K show boxsets for $9.99 each, then took Conan the Barbarian (the one with Arnold commentary) for free. Wasn't enthralled about the free choice, but that was all they really had left for me, but the MST3K deal was great.

I don't understand gamestops b2get1 anymore. Last week I called on monday, they said "it will be ending tuesday, so tommorow is the last day" that was at my local store like 5 minutes away, I drove to a store 30 mins away and they said it had ended yesterday. I then brought up how my local store still had it going on today. The guy told me he was in different districts so that was the reason. I always thought before that if one gamestop had the b2get1 they all did no matter what. I will call a few gamestops friday to see what is up

Very funny today...
Went into a GS and the place was empty except the FOUR employees that were standing around doing nothing {dvd section was a mess so they could have been fixing that up}...
I ask "dvd's included in the sale?"
All the guys had different answers...
Very funny stuff...
Finally one guy calls them all over to the "email" and shows them it and then one says "yea, dvds are included" and then another guy says "I'm going to call the district manager to varify this..."
I swear it was just like a 3 Stoogies routine...

Gamestop/EB actually have very good customer service. I recently bought the Black Hawk Down Deluxe Edition and Hitchhiker's Guide to Galaxy (Old Version) for $10 each only to find out that the B2G1 was over. I shot an email to corporate that I know some EB's still had the B2G1 promotion. They replied in a day, had called up the store manager, and I got to go back and pick up an extra movie to sweeten the deal. So if you want things done, either contact corporate or get contact info of the district manager.

I got some GREAT customer service at GameStop on Jolly Lane in Brooklyn Center, MN today. I was there when they opened, and there were about 200 or so titles waiting to be processed, and he asked if I wanted to slip behind the counter and look for myself. Can't say any other store has ever extended me that courtesy.
Didn't make out as I planned earlier, but still VERY happy..
ST:TNG Season 1 - $36 w/ ValueCard
Transformers Season 1 - $27 w/ Value Card
He Man & MOTU Season 1: Vol. 1 - Free
So, $67 after taxes, going to sell the Transformers set for $50 making my ST and MOTU sets roughly $15. God bless GameStop.

If the GS is close by, you should be able to stop in with a receipt and get ~$4 back.
Most stores will not let you do that on one ticket, and will argue with you until you finally tell them to do it as separate purchases. I've even had one store try to tell me they couldn't ring up separate purchases (they changed their minds after I demanded they call the store manager and ask him if he wanted his numbers to look good or not this month, as I was buying 18 titles).

I've had the occasional clerk who didn't know how to do it or was just too dumb to realize it would make a difference ("You're getting two movies free, why do you care which ones?"), but I've only once had a clerk (the store manager, actually) refuse to do it. I'm not the type to argue with store clerks (I argue for a living, so I prefer just being cordial on my own time) but this was so illogical (since I obviously have the right to make two separate purchases) that I just couldn't let her win. When she finally did relent, she acted like she was doing me a huge one-time-only favor. I basically boycott that store now, since there's so many others around and I'd prefer to patronize those with better service.
That's great that you have, for the most part, cool stores to go to. I only had one store where the employees would ring up everything on one ticket and keep it to my advantage, but then the manager and assistant manager got canned, and a "by the book" manager from another store was put in charge. Even the guys that know me and ring it up the way I like have told me that their directions from their district manager is that you ring up the absolute cheapest. They just don't give a shit what he says because they want their numbers to look good, and they know that during a B2G1F sale I'm usually good for at least 6 purchases every time I come in the store.
I've only had that one incident where the clerk told me that she couldn't ring up separate purchases, and I was so annoyed by her incompetence (she was so busy having a conversation with her friend that she let it be known that waiting on me was an inconvenience), that I basically said "ring it up the way I'm asking you to, or give me the name and phone number of your district manager so I can call him and get you replaced with someone that can do this job properly." I'd boycott the store if it were closer. As it is, I simply won't go back there because I don't expect to be in that area again.
But my local stores... even though we have go-rounds about how to ring things up, they're damn good at taking care of me. They tend to call me when the B2G1F goes off, or if any in-demand box sets come in.
