...online and in store (at least the Newington, CT one). Sorry if this is old news, I did search and didn't see anything.

My question is:

Last week it was To Kill A Mockingbird 2D for $9.99;
This week it is The Good, the Bad and the Ugly 2D for $9.99;
What will be the next? How many are there waiting to be discovered?

There could be another few titles in this secret 50% off regular price sale. I have used dvdpricesearch power search and it didn't work well.

I wonder if any DVDtalker who can design a program to run a search on Bestbuy.com to find more secret sale titles for us.

Thanks for the heads up, grabbed this today. It was actually on the 9.99 rack, no corrected sticker... but rang up without a problem.

Just picked it up. Sold my MGM bare bones version to Coconuts for $3, so it turns out I bought the DVD for $6.99. Thanks for the heads up, Onitapgr.

I am really interested in this title but wondering if it is easier to just wait for the inevitable trilogy box set that is probably coming later this year.

LOL

The "SE 9.99" in the title makes all the difference though

Agreed. I own the original trilogy release so I'm going to continue and hold out for all three.

If anyone misses out on it for some reason, it's been priced at $14 at Wal-Mart since release.

Bought---no hassles at all. Went up to the cashier, said "I was just wanting to see if this is still on sale"...sho'nuff...yeah!!! Many thanks to the OP.

I don't know if I'd hold my breath on the other titles being done in special editions. Weren't those released overseas as Spec. Ed's well over a year ago? I believe DVD Savant had something to do with those, and he lamented their lack of USA release, as well as Fistful of Dynamite, which is still MIA, I believe.

I can't imagine that Fistful of Dollars and For a Few Dollars More won't eventually get a Special Edition release here in the States. Though I don't see what that has to do with not picking up The Good The Bad And The Ugly Special Edition for $9.99. You're not going to find a better price then that.

I watched this flick last night. Although its completely restored with about 18 minutes of footage added, I found the Dolby Digital 5.1 redux quite irritating. There are instances when a character not on sceen is talking and the dialogue is transferred to the rear speakers with an echo effect added, which I found to be really irritating. Besides, the dubbing for the restored scenes was quite bad. The dirt cleanup of the print is also not uniform throughout.

I purchased this for the restored footage but my preference is for the original print to remain as is - lends a touch of authenticity to an old movie. Not clean it up so much that it looks like a new, old movie. I might be alone on this or might even invite flaming. Just voicing my opinion though.

Yeah it looks like R2 or R3 is the only way to go..Amazon UK has them in stock. Found a couple of other Asian online retailers as well. I dont quite understand studio policies, especially when sales are guaranteed.

Great. I picked this up yesterday. Thanks OP.

Also, anybody have difficulty taking the back paper cover off? I was trying to take it off, but felt like I might actually tear up some of the paper on the box itself. I think it looks a lot better if its just the box. Oh well... no biggie.

Yeah, I had the same problem. I went to peel it off, thinking it was the rubber cement type glue (like they use on the Simpsons synopsis sheets on the back of those season sets) but it was a MUCH stronger adhesive.

I've had my copy for quite a while now, but as I look at it the paper cover is off (and stashed inside the box) and there is no damage to the back. Obviously mine came off just fine, but past performance is no guarrantee of future results.

Yeah I picked my copy up last pm, and had the paper slightly rip when I took off that sheet on the back. What was worse though is that disc 2 was a floater and was all scrathed up so I'm gonig back tonight to exchange it!
Anyone else have any floaters with this title?
