Well, my WalMart in NE Ohio is under the impression that the sale starts on Jan. 1st. I'm not complaining, I'll get there bright and early (or is it good and late, lol) so it won't be all picked over.

Saw the display (actually placed within home electronics!) tonight at the Super-Center in Lebanon, OR. Picked up Firefly and Roswell S1 (both blindbuys) for about 40 bucks. I might pick up Dark Angel S1 as another blindbuy later this week. Opinions? Thanks to the OP also.

You will not regret the blind buy on Firefly. I got it during the DDD sale (for $5 more grrr) and finally finished it last night. It is an outstanding show. Fox really dropped the ball here. With all the swill on TV the fact that this awesome show got cancelled is sort of disgusting.

I also blind bought Arrestred Development, and I'm sure I'll have the exact same reaction if popular opinion holds up.

Between yesterday afternoon and 6:30 this morning, they put up the display at the Keeaumoku store. The display doesn't hold too many of each title, and there were only a few of certain titles left, including "Firefly". I had most everything of interest, so only got "Murder One". (That was such a good show!)

I called a few Wal-marts in my area and no one had a clue about this sale, so I finally just drove to one, and lo and behold, there was the display right when I walked in the door. Picked up Firefly, a steal at $19.86.

I also finished Firefly last night. It was excellent and I highly recommend it as a blind buy. It really is a shame that it was cancelled. Now I'm looking forward to watching Serenity on DVD.

Porter Ranch location

For anybody near the Porter Ranch, California store: the display is there but it's in a stupid location. It's at the front of the store, past the cash registers, underneath the window for the optometrist office. It's fully stocked, probably because it's impossible to find. The titles I remember seeing:

Firefly
True Calling 1
Angel 1
Dark Angel 1 & 2
Lone Gunmen
Arrested Developement 1
Pretender 1
Malcolm in the Middle 1
Lost in Space
Buffy 1
Muder One 1
Mash 1
Wonderfalls

Anyone find anything in DFW yet? I tried the one @ 183 near BeltLine and the one @ 635 & Midway. Both places are still warzones. There was one poor manager desperately trying to get new DVDs on the floor Monday afternoon, but he was surrounded by chaos.

You are so right. My Walmart had NOTHING except some gift sets with three titles for 19.99 like Romancing the Stone or Ever After each with two other not so hot titles. So thanks to the OP, I talked to a stocker in the department, asked for Firefly, he went to the back and got it out and it scanned 19.98. Love this series--we've all been fighting over the set I got during the big Fox sale earlier this year, and now I have a keep at home set!!!

These titles are MIA at my local Wal-Mart's, just like the TNA Wrestling boxset . I really need Firefly for that price.

Store in Deer Park (Tx) just put theirs out yesterday/today as it wasn't there pre-Christmas - it's in the Elec dept. near register.

However, the one on Fairmont@Beltway 8 in Pasadena had it out the days prior to Christmas near the express registers & moved it to the Elec. dept. afterwards - their stock was dwindling but still had all selections.

Haven't checked any others.

In New Milford, CT they have:
Firefly
Millenium 1
Angel 1
Dark Angel 1 & 2
Lone Gunmen
Arrested Developement 1
Pretender 1
Malcolm in the Middle 1
Lost in Space
Buffy 1
Muder One 1
Mash 1

All near the jewelry counter (kinda hidden, but they got em!). I picked up The Lone Gunman, Millenium and Firefly; I didnt want to watch Serenity without seeing Firefly first.. GOOD DEALS!

Lawrence, KS and Kansas City, KS - No copies of firefly left in stock!

After hearing everyone rave about the show, I was going to blind buy it, but now I'll just wait a while

Went to a 3rd store in Columbus, Ohio and nothing. No sale, no display, nothing.

I called a few other stores and none of them have any of these titles stocked and they were not aware of any current sale.

They were also telling me that none of the titles were on sale online either which indicates that the sale hasn't started yet. They said that Firefly was release several years ago and haven't had any for a while.

I am hoping that this sale will start next week in Ohio and the stock will be replenished.

I just finished the fourth and final Firefly disc last night. You have some excellent episodes ahead of you! This show should have been a huge ratings success. It's a absolute bargain at $20.

Nothing at Norman,OK walmart...I'll check again Wed evening.

EDIT: West Supercenter had display today but it was half empty, no Firefly!!!

East Side Supercenter had no display and looked at me like I was crazy for asking. Is it just me or are most Walmart employees about as helpful as rocks? I guess I would not give much of a shit for 5.50 an hour either.
