Artman, how did you get them to give you a price adjustment?

I also tried calling their customer service regarding a damaged DVD I was sent, but got nothing about them sending me a postage-paid return label to mail it back.

Looks like I have to mail my first order back if I don't get a price adjustment as I reordered everything in my 2nd order at the lower price.

I was sent the R-rated version of 'The Hole', instead of the unrated version listed. I also received a handwritten note on the invoice stating that one of the titles I ordered was out-of-stock, but would be shipped soon...although it is listed as 'shipped' on-site, and in my shipping email notification. First time that's ever happened in 4 years.

As far as I know, despite the fact that "The Hole" is listed as Unrated on several sites, the only version that exists is the R-rated. Perhaps some of the confusion is caused by the Canadian version (which does not sport an R-rating, but I believe is the exact same release under a different distributer with a different cover). I went out of my way to get the Canadian release because I thought it had a much better cover.

that happened to me too, they knew about it and placed another order for the title that was listed as shipped, but didn't actually ship. they gave me the order #, but it's not associated with your account and you can't check up on it online..

I sent them an email shortly after the prices were lowered. (about 3-4 days after I originally ordered) I didn't hear anything for over a wk and figured it was a lost cause, then sure enough I got an email.

It was only $6, so maybe that had something to do with it...

I rented The Hole from Wal-Mart earlier this year, although it was listed as R-rated on their site, the version they actually sent me had 'Unrated Version' stamped across the disc's label. I haven't opened the R-rated version to make a comparison.

Thanks, Artman. I did email them on the very day of the sale for a price adjustment. I even reordered all the DVDs from my first order and then some in case they failed to adjust it for me. I'll emailed them again to inquire if they can still make the adjustment to see what happens. The worse case scenario is that I will just mail my first order back as troublesome as it is.

Most of the stuff from my second order (when they lowered the prices to $6) is still backordered. Anyone else?

Yep, same here. I ordered six, three of which were in stock and have already been shipped and received. The other three titles still have an expected ship date of 11/04. I've noticed that DDD seems to simply list the date on back-ordered titles as being 10 days from the day the order is placed, with some shipping two days later and some, such as these, taking a bit longer.

I'm not worried, though...I've yet to have any problems with them sending wrong titles, or not receiving orders.

4 of the 6 I ordered are showing backordered with 11/4 as the ship date. I got 2 so far, each sent separately. Considering that I only spent $4/dvd they can't be making much money when they ship one at a time.

jeffrey r 11-06-05 07:59 AM

I received my Three Colors Trilogy quickly, but in another order of 6, 5 are backordered, including Swingers, Shaolin Soccer and Serendipity.

silver_yummies 11-09-05 02:25 AM

13 of my 15 are STILL backordered.

InnocentBlood 11-09-05 03:27 AM

the first 5 of my order arrived yesterday after having shipped on 27/10. the remaining 16 are still on back order...

Jake77444 11-09-05 12:29 PM

4/9 have shipped(2 on 10/28 an 2 on 11/08). The rest are still backordered and i've only received 1 so far.

andicus 11-09-05 03:06 PM

I've received 6 of 6.

Three Colours Red, Blue, White (What a great deal! And, they are LOADED with extras)
25th Hour
Cider House Rules
Swingers

silver_yummies 11-09-05 04:04 PM

you received your 25h hour? that sucks because mine is backordered.

Gamelore 11-09-05 06:25 PM

I just sent my "Heavenly Creatures" in for an exchange. It had a slightly damaged cover, almost invisible.

It is so little damage, I bet they will repackage it as new, so keep an eye out if you ordered it.

I was wondering what the backorder status on "Heavenly Creatures" is.
