It's taboo to ask, but not to answer--the fall DDD 20% Sale is usually around the week of Thanksgiving, but that's not guaranteed. They never announce it in advance, so you're not going to know when the sale starts . . . well. . .until it starts. Just be patient and keep checking their site. There's no point in asking anyone outside DDD because we are all equally clueless.

If you're ordering the exact same DVDs over again, you just return the new unopened ones with the old invoice. It really sucks that they'd rather have us do this and waste a lot of people's time.

Prices back up to 8.97. That sucks.

Everything is back to $8.97 now. I was just going in to place an order for 15 or so new titles that I passed on at this price two weeks ago. Guess I'll continue to pass...

what a crock... yeah, that policy doesn't make much sense.

Just to let you know, I had a similar situation with a double order at the end of the 20% off sale last fall. I caught it the next day and they gave me the same answer as you about it already being processed and they could not stop it but they ended up only shipping about a third of the order and they paid the return postage so don't give up hope.

Weak DDD, very weak.... I will be hesitant to order from you more than twice a year from now on.

ouch to DDD on raising their prices.

I don't see the point of fussing at DDD. Sure, their prices went back up, but where's the gratitude for lowering them in the first place? DDD provides low prices and good customer service, and we ought to be happy they exist so we're not dependent on B&M stores or Amazon.

Let's try to keep this in perspective. This was already a pretty good buy 2 get 1 free sale. Then DDD lowered their price even further to $5.99 per DVD for a limited time that they stated on their website. There was plenty of time yesterday to order at the reduced $5.99 price. Now they raised the prices back up as they said they would.

Note: I am not opining on the refund issue, just the fact that they "raised" their prices.

I got the same price adjustment email. "We are sorry we are unable to provide you the price adjustment..."

I was slightly upset for about 2 minutes.

DAMMIT! I hadn't been checking this thread since I started it, finally looked this morning and saw the $5.99 news. Checked DDD, saw the price was still $5.99, but it was getting late and I figured I'd go through and make some orders when I got to work. I get to work and check the site, they're back to $8.99.

Sorry to hear that ME. I missed out on a couple of deals back in the day which led me to formulate my first law of DVD bargin hunting: If you see a deal: jump on it! It might not be there in five minutes.

Especially for a popular title on a used site. Even more so for those used sites that provide notification.

More than once I've had a title in my cart, and gone to see what else I wanted to pick up. Then, when I went to check out, the item was no longer available. Now when I see something particularly difficult to find, I check out ASAP.

re: DDD and price raising, I thought it was pretty clear from Dabaomb's post that it was one day only. That's why I jumped on the Kieslowski 3 colours immediately.

As an additional motivation to order early, some of the items are now showing up as backordered. I got a $5.99 order in last night, and it now reports Clerks and Shaolin Soccer as backordered.

Wow, I just made it! I just placed my order this morning. Funny thing is I still only found two titles I really wanted, so I ended up getting a Rollie Pollie Ollie for my son as the third title. Copland, Infernal Affairs & Rollie Pollie Ollie! What a mix...

BTW, my 3 colours show up with an item status as 'NEW PRICE' with a ship date of 11/04//05. Is anyone elses like that? I'm not sure if that's indicating a pending price drop, or if it's just backordered. They do list as $5.99.

Nope. I ordered Trois Couleurs at the $5.99 price yesterday, and they shipped today.

The "NEW PRICE" probably refers to the $5.99.

It said New Price when it was $8.97. I think it's cuz the price dropped from $9 something.

Mine shows that also, with ship date of 11/4, so maybe they are backordered? I do have one title that actually says BACKORDERED, so who knows.

I have that also. 3 that were backordered when I bought them now showing as "NEWPRICE" and a 4th now showing as "BACKORDER". The NEWPRICE items have a Ship Date of "11/05/05" and the BACKORDER item has one of "~11/05/05".

I'm sure it will all work out.

For those of you that actually got a response from customer service through email, how long did it take for them to get back to you? I've emailed them once before about another order and I had to email them again to remind them about it before someone got back to me. I emailed them 2 days ago and have not gotten a response yet. They'll probably deny me a credit, but it's the principle of the thing, you know?

I'm still going to shop there though.
