El Cajon, CA ring(u)s at $23 too. They weren't out so I had to ask them to grab one from the mysterious place known only as "the back".

That better not be the Mission Valley store because that was the one I tried to use "In Store Pickup" and I got an email next day saying it wasn't in the inventory.

Tom (and any fellow San Diego Talkers), FYI -I swung by the Best Buy in Chula Vista on the way home (off the 54 between the I5 and the 805, next to Wal-Mart) and they have 8 copies. 4 on the Ring 2 display and 4 more in the horror section. I had the clerk ring it up and it was still $22.99.
This is as of 6:45 PM.

damn I saw it on the shelf today at full price ($42ish) and thought the deal was dead based on an earlier post so I didn't bother. Heck tomorrow I might swing by and see what price it scans at.

I saw the sign on the shelf say 42.99 as well, but I'm glad to I took the time to have them scan it. SCORE! The main reason I went to BB was to get Apollo 13 for 6.99, but they were out. Glad I remembered about this post. Thanks, OP!

They were 22.99 at my local BBs.

I picked up an extra, thinking that maybe I'd help out a fellow DVDTalker. With postage and box costs, plus the thought of gas prices and waiting in line at the PO, I don't think I want to do a mail deal with anyone. But maybe a local DVDTalker would want to meet up if they can't find their own copy. I'll just return it most likely, since it looks like they are still 'on sale' in this region.

Yep, I thought that might the one you'd hit. I've gone there a few times to score a release that was hard to find. That's where I found the Universal Legacy Collection. It can be a real zoo there, though, so I try to limit my excursions there.

Thanks for the info, Dave.

Bloomingdale, IL computer said they had two copies, but we couldn't find them anywhere, the staff even voluntarily looked in the back. As we were leaving my spidey sense started tingling and I checked the big "The Ring Two" display up front and both sets were up there. The original price had actually been scribbled out with a pen and 22.99 written on it.

The BB at Waterford Lakes in Orlando had 6 copies on the shelf upon opening this AM. All were marked for $42.99, but rang up for $22.99.

Just snagged my copy at the Shreveport LA BB. Same as most, the shelf price was $42.99 but had the cashier scan it and it scanned at $22.99.
BTW, there were 3 more copies left for anyone in this area.

This is actually marked at $22.99 in my store so I don't think it's a price mistake.

Hey all,

I feel like a dork posting times for my DVD purchases, but in Detroit, BestBuy still has them for $22.99 (at 7pm). However, my one of the DVD nipples is broken, and a disc was loose. Normally this wouldn't bother me, but since this is such special packaging, I am gonna switch it....

Oh yea, There was a manufacturer white sticker of $42 on the case, then a BestBuy sticker for $22 on top of that, then ANOTHER best buy sticker on top of THAT that read $42. buuuuut, it still came up as $22. I am now gonna force myself to like these movies since i bought them. I was gonna get the ring 2 instead, but i can get that anytime....

Later,

Matt

thanks to the OP. I'll have to go to Best Buy tomorrow and pick up one of these. Saw it today but the 42.99 price turned me off on it.

a couple of people have mentioned the packaging, how is it? I just took a quick glance at it.

Went there today, and there were 4 copies, but they were $42.99. My area never seems to have the deals like this.

On a sidenote, afterwards, I locked my keys in my car and the police couldn't open the lock. Today is not going well...
