Not to threadcrap or anything, (so I will say this as objectively as I can), but is Ringu 2 and the other sequels anything like Ringu? I mean does a random character in the middle of the film
Spoiler:
just out of the blue says he's "psychic" and explains the whole story just like that?

Not quite out of the blue. Though the psychic stuff (which I didn't like in Ringu) plays a big part of the storyline, which I actually did like in this one.

Not a great movie, but better than the US remake, some good cleverness here and there.

Ringu 0: Birthday and Rasen do not suffer from this problem.

Thanks davejt1, a great deal. Went to the B&M and picked it up with an additional $5 off from a reward certificate I'd gotten. Thanks!

Got an email this morning saying it wasn't available at the store I selected... even though the website said it was.

Anywho, I called and the lady suggested I try another store but I didn't want to take a chance and changed it to "ship".

I made the mistake of just going to the store in hopes it would be on sale. Instead, they had one copy left and a little sign marked with the "correct" $40+ price. Rushed back home and placed online order. Had it shipped as the store that I visited that did have a copy on the rack said "unavailable" for pickup.

The one I bought was marked $42.99, but when I checked out I just asked the person at the register to scan it and make sure it matched the website, and it rang up as $22.99. As far as I know, it wasn't "advertised" as being on sale anywhere in the store, it just scans that way at the register - that is, until they realize the mistake.

Usually they will ship it free when this happens. Call and complain!

Last time I selected Store Pickup and it went out of stock they sent it to me free of charge.

Saved me $50 in shipping (was a big desk). Dunno if that applies to everything though, should say in the e-mail.

Went to my local Best Buy and they had it for $42.99 so I ordered it online when I got home w/ in store pick up for $22.99. Picked it up earlier today no problems. Glad I didn't miss out on this one as I probably wouldn't have bought it at the higher price.

Figure I'd give this set a chance. Can't beat $23 for 4 movies. Price was marked $43 on the box and on a tag on the shelf, but I had it price checked and it rang up $23. To the register I went, and no problems at all.

I broke down and did an In-Store Pickup this morning....hopefully I'll pick it up later today. I figure I can always sell it for the same price if I don't want it.

*ALSO*
Are these the same versions that are already in stores? Well, at least with the previous RINGU disc.

What is the order of the movies (that I should watch them in)? ringu/ringu2/rasen/ringu0

Thanks!

*Wow...ready to pick up already.....

Ended up ordering it for in-store pick up, and got it without a problem. Oddly enough, the tax in store was $1.49, same as the shipping for having it shipped. But if you have it shipped, they add tax on top of the shipping, so I stuck with in-store.

I did notice they had the $42.99 price card back in the horror section.

Personally, I'd watch Rasen before Ringu2, simply because that one came out first.

FYI, Rasen was originally marketed as the sequel to Ringu (and came out around the same time), yet it bombed at the box office. Therefore, Ringu2 was later released as the "official" sequel to Ringu, as Rasen was then pretty much ignored as if it had never happened.

You can read about it in detail here (great website on Asian horror):

I picked mine up at the Rochester store last night for $22.99. The price tag said $42.99 but it rang up for $22.99. Excellent deal. Someone needs to make a custom case so we can all get rid of the crappy cardboard one.

Yep, mine shipped today.

I'm addicted to buying things only becuase they are mispriced. And at least I have come to accept that, even if my GF won't.

That's probably because there's a thread posted in Fatwallet today. It seems everytime there's a good deal stolen from this forum and posted in there, it will die within 24 hours.

OP you can mark title "DEAD".

Glad I ordered this yesterday for in-store pickup. This morning, I was able to get it as well for $22.99. The customer service representative took a second glance at the price on the screen versus the sticker, but didn't say anything. Thanks to the OP!

It seems to be working in the store. I just got back from a San Diego Best Buy and it rang up at $22.99. Thanks OP!
