New York update

1. Atlantic Avenue - there were only two copies of Friends (S4) on the shelf. Everything else was cleaned out. I couldn't find a scanner so I asked an employee to scan Friends S4. It came up $5.99, but he told me that shouldn't be on the shelf and took it away from me. I ran and grabbed the remaining copy and checked out easily.

Gilmore Girls were stacked up behind the counter.

2. Queens Blvd. - Many copies of everything, but all scanned at full price.

The Jerk 20th Anniversary Edition and West Wing (Season 4) rang up at $5.99 for me as well. I didn't see either of those titles mentioned here.

I'm keeping The Jerk. I'm going to head over to the exchange thread with my two copies of the West Wing. (I'm looking for Looney Tunes 1 and 2, BTW)

Why'd you have to go and do that pooks? Here I thought I was done checking my Target. Anyone else try The Jerk or West Wing?

I went there again yesterday with a few friends, and they still had a few sets of Friends, SatC, Batman, Carson, Little house, there was more than that too, but I dont remember exactly what else. They had a lot of the older TV shows. I got the last copy of Loony Toons and McGyver tho. Good luck! I hope its still on.
odisn, your not on TWW (NCSU's board) by any chance are you? Thats where I heard about this.

All the titles are in stock at the Northpoint store in Alpharetta, GA, but nothing rang up on the cheap-cheap. I can confirm the previous post about Buckhead, too.

I am on TWW, but I do not check there as often anymore. I did run to Garner at lunch and picked up Moonlighting and Spongebob 1 & 2, still at $5.99. Not much left though!

Well, checked the Target store in Chattanooga off of gunbarrel and ALL of the sets are back to the normal price. Even checked Jaws. Who knows if they were ever priced at 5.99 at this store. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Had to pick up a prescription so I had to go there anyway.

With pooks finding a couple more titles not listed in the thread thus far, I went to Target before work to check it out. I went up there yesterday and saw one of the employees scanning all the sets, and just left. I thought maybe they had only scanned the boxsets, or that the prices had gotten screwed up again as someone previously had said.

I get there and didn't see West Wing, but just grabbed a couple random boxsets that were mispriced before and went to a scanner. One of the security guys (blue shirt) kept following me around and watching my every move. I didn't find any boxsets still mispriced, but I didn't appreciate them following me around. I'm probably gonna go back tonight or tomorrow and look around again just to see if they watch me so closely. If they do, I'm gonna say something. I mean, it's not illegal to scan an item, so it's not like I'm breaking the law or anything, and it's their fault if they're not smart enough to fix the problem in their system or at least keep them in the back.

So, to reiterate, it seems to be a NO GO at the Colonial location in Orlando.

I can confirm that the deal is finally dead in all Tulsa-area stores.

I woke up early today and went on a Target run in the Chicago SW Burbs. I hit 6 Targets (Joliet, Shorewood, Lemont, Darien, Woodridge & Bolingbrook) all of the Targets has their box sets back at the regular prices. The only thing I found was a Jaws 20th Anniversary 2 disc set for $5.99.

I think the jig is up...

Your welcome...other folks have helped me in the past not trudging out to 3-4 different stores..

I checked North Point and found the same prices (regular). The other stores I checked:

State Bridge- Most rang up at normal prices, got Spongebob 1 and 2, Pocahontas, and Mary Poppins for $5.99

Sandy Springs- Sold out of almost everything, picked up Northern Exposure 1 and 3 and 2 copies of West Wing Season 4 for $5.99.

Holcomb Bridge- Everything in stock, at full prices.

I went back to the Fairfield, NJ store today. Everything appears to be back at regular price. I tried scanning Sex and the City Season 1, The Jerk and Moonlighting (which I bought for $5.99 yesterday) with no luck. I am debating whether I should even waste my time going to the Hackensack, NJ store after work.

I checked a few in teh Dallas area, the Northwest Highway at Skillman and SuperTarget at Abrams and Skillman, both had full prices.

Just wondering, has this ever happened before? Maybe at a different store, but has a huge nation wide priceing error ever happend? Anyone think it could happen again?

Went to Target in North Little Rock this afternoon and a lot of stuff had been cleared out, but still managed to ring up and purchase:

The girl at checkout didn't even look twice at me when she scanned them through and I was out of there with a big happy grin. Thanks OP.

pocohontas, jerk, and jaws, all normal price at rockville.....appears the cat is out of the bag now. The first few times I went, I could swear undercover security was following me around, trying to see what I scan. So, just to piss them off, throw them off the trail, I always scan the last item as something I know is full price....so as not to leave it blatant for them to see.
I get irritated when they do this....the store is open for business and they shouldnt harass people. I had this happen at gaithersburg store years ago, punk security guy followed me around the store, so first started leading him all around the store, womans apparel, footwear, etc. Then stop abruptly, then follow him around, as he "tries" to be inconspicuous........pretty sure it pisses them off. If you want to check me, check me, but dont try to think you are slick, pal. If my wife is with me, I'll say something like " look at this guy, point him out, and say I think we should call the store manager, this guy is following us around, and I dont think he works here either, they might want to know"....anyone else having security follow them or try to watch you, I am curious....

The security guard was eyeballing me hard when I went to my local Target. The video section is right next to the entrance and he keep walking around and talking on his walkie. All the scanners were down when I went so I was forced to ask the cashier for a price check. The first cashier I asked was up front so she had no idea. For the second price checked I approached the clerk in the video section (big mistake). Right before she went to scan the DVDs her phone rang. She moved out of earshot and when she hung up she walked over to the display and pointed at the $29.99 price, than told a worker to get the off the floor. The worker made believe the was going to do it, but just walked away when she left.

If the damn scanners were working I know I could of got a bunch more. I managed to get some, but none of the ones I really wanted.

Most of them are buffoons, and dont have the first clue how to be discreet. Its hilarious, but annoying all at the same time.

It's just amazing that this is still going on. Why in the world has Target not fixed this obvious mistake across the nation yet? :rolleyes:

As posted , got Jaws and Newlyweds Season 2+3 last night for $5.99 . Scanned alot of others , including Band of Brothers but nothing I found was $5.99 other than the 2 I got .
They had a few other sets (Little House , etc) that I was not interested in so after scanning 20 or so different sets I got paranoid and decided to split :)

can someone please tell me if batman tas vol.3 is still 5.99 or not?? as the target is like over an hour from my house. thanks
