sounds like a compilation of episodes with spike? maybe it'll have some extras or commentaries not found in the season sets.
I found a couple of FYI links about this "exclusive" release:

What do you guys think the odds are of finding Garbage Pail Kids at Best Buy or CC on Tuesday? I have a feeling i'll have to drive to a Boarders or order online for this one.

Target has some dvds on sale for $10 this week. All I saw in the online ad were Anchorman and Harry Potter 3. There are more on sale.

Nice, you just earned DDD another order. I forgot this flick was coming out. My "nostalgia stack" is getting broader on the rack.

Nobody's mentioned this yet : BB has matchbox twenty's "SHOW" DVD (2-disc set) fopr $9.99. That's a great deal afor anyone who's a fan. The set usually sells for $24.99.

Note : Mediocre review here.

Despite the fact that Bestbuy.com has Million Dollar Baby listed at 16.99, it was 14.99 in my local store. It was pretty obvious to me that it was a last minute change because the price tags were printed on normal paper, not the fancy yellow Best Buy tags they normally have.

Saved me a trip to Circuit City!

You can always price-match! Just because Circuit City has it cheaper doesn't mean you can get it for the same (or less) at BB. The nearest BB is about 5 minutes from me, and CC is about 12 or so. Add in the reward zone card, and I'm pretty much buying and pricematching everything I at BB.

BestBuy actually had Garbage Pail Kids in stock, about 8 copies on the shelf. Also, it appears to be on unadvertised sale. The sticker reads 12.99, but it came up 9.99.

I went to my local Circuit City to buy "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" today, but they didn't even carry it. I'm getting sick of Circuit City's lack of stock here. Unfortunately, I have nowhere to price match it, because my Walmart stores don't carry it either. Thankfully we're getting a Best Buy at the end of the month. I'll be in there so much every clerk will know my name....and they better give me discounts too!! :buford:

Borrowed a friends Rewards Zone card and picked up Sealab 2021 and He-Man today. Didn't plan on getting He-Man, but its a pretty nice set for $12.99.

For 12.99, you really can't beat that He-man set. I still plan on picking up the season sets but the 10 episode set is really well done with nice packaging to boot.

Actually its a much nicer set than the more expensive Sealab Vol 3 as much as I hate to say it. For $12.99 the packaging looks great, the 10 episodes are a nice mix of season 1 and 2, the documentaries and little facts about each episode are excellent and it was a couple of nice artwork cards included. I will also be picking up the season sets, but I have no complaint about getting this as well for $12.99.

The word you're looking for is "Bogus".

But you're right, it's a major bummer, man.

My local Kmart has MDB 3 disc marked $22.99. They had a pre-priced sticker on them. Not the local store sticker. So you might be lucky if you have a Kmart near you. Rang up at $29.99, but got the price adjusted without hesitation. Good luck.

I know the artwork is the old one, but do they still sell the 1 disc?

Best Buy is supposed to be giving double reward zone points for any TV on DVD sets you buy. hopefully Tales From The Crypt will be double points when it shows up on my reward zone account.

In addition, they have increased the base prices of cheap DVDs (what used to be 5.99, now is 6.99 or more). Does this mean they are trying to get out of the DVD sales althogether?
Agreed. Between their rising prices on new releases and their customer disservice doing everything they can to turn off DVD customers, I have gone from a DVD-a-week-at-Best Buy customer to stopping from buying anything from them completely in several months. I used to be at their stores like clockwork on Tuesdays--at least in 2003 and 2004, but this year I've been going elsewhere, and content doing so.
