New BBV deal, 3 for $25, July 1

A friend of mine that works at the local BBV told me about the deal tonight, but she didn't know how long it'll last. It'll suck on the lesser value DVD's when compared to B2G1F, but it'll be good for those $14.99 newer releases that get thrown in the PV bin every Sunday. Check what you want and what it's currently going for so you can get the best deal possible.

EDIT: Now that the deal has started, it's been shown that the 3 for $25 only applies to certain titles (still no word on what ones). But it's nowhere near as good as if it applied to all.

I enjoy this sale infinitely over the B2G1 sale, because we can add boxsets into this equation. Even if the boxset is regularly priced at $29.95 or even higher, just grab it and 2 regular titles and get the whole package for $25.00. I've been waiting for them to go back to this or the 2 for 20 before I bought anything again.

Good point. I don't consider that part when I think of BBV sales because I've only seen one box set since they started taking in trades, and that was Will & Grace season 1.

They never, ever, ever have boxsets at the stores I go to. I still like the 3/$25 deal though, since they keep a lot of titles priced at 12.99 and 14.99 for so damn long.

Sweet! My local store has about 20 boxsets I've been waiting to buy when this sale comes on. I'll be there when they open July 1!

Still not better than the "Buy 2 Get 2 Free" sale at Movie Gallery.

Not everyone has a movie gallery near them (e.g. none near NYC). Also, some ppl still have tons of trade-in credit from the $8 promotion last year (I have about $700 left)

that would be sweet. Alas, the only sets I see are broken up into seperate discs so it is rarely worth it for a set.

Do you have to do that, or can you just get 3 box sets for $25 (if that many are available)?

Same here, no Movie Gallery in Chicago, and still have $400+ in BBV credit.

Wait wait wait....is this for used titles only, or new as well? Because if new titles qualify, Imma go nuts.

While I have not seen this deal, I can state with absolute certainty that it is not for new dvds.

Yes, if they have 3 boxsets, you can get them for $25. This is a YMMV, I think. I think I remember reading that some BBVs were trying to exclude boxsets from this sale, but I haven't had any problems with the couple boxsets I've gotten.

Anyone sure if this is nationwide? This is what BBVs website says:

Previously Viewed DVDs - Buy 2, Get 1 FREE!
Now through July 4, these and other great movies are on sale - Buy 2, Get 1 FREE - at your participating local BLOCKBUSTER stores

went to my local BBV and they had some flyers out that had the 3-$25 and 2-$12. When i asked about this they said that both sales were for specific titles only. They showed me a list and they weren't very impressive. No boxsets or anything like that. Maybe some other stores won't post that list.

It's up on their site now, some are 3 for $25, some are 2 for $12, but both lists are identical.

I would guess any titles currently priced at 7.99 or less will be 2 for 12, all others will be 3 for 25. At least it's nationwide....

Hmmm...the lists are different for me. I hope it's not "just" these titles that are this price, but rather ALL. We'll see I guess.

Bah, sorry about that then, it's probably going to be a deal that sucks if it's not all used titles. I asked when the B2G1F deal was ending and they were going back to 2 for $20, and my friend said that she didn't know about that, but she recalled seeing a paper talking about 3 for $25. She leafed through some papers and told me July 1, but didn't say that it was specific titles only.

Well, I just got back from my local Blockbuster and can confirm that this sale is ONLY for selected titles.

I checked with the clerk and asked if the 3 for $25 applied to any previewed title and he said, no, it was only for the ones on a specific table.

Oh well. I'll keep waiting until a good sale comes. :P

That's pretty lame of BBV to do that, and with that, they definately can't compete with Hollywood having their 3/25 on all PVDs. Speaking of Hollywood Video, has anyone been by there recently to see if they put out the titles traded in with the regular PVDs, and if there's been any good finds as of yet?

Man, I hate Blockbuster.

There was no apparent rhyme or reason to what was on the table and what wasn't - some were 12.99, some were 14.99, some were 9.99.

I cannot wait for the (eventual) day they go out of business.

I was at Blockf-cker today for about 1 hour picking out movies. When I came to the counter, the clerk told me I can only buy 10 movies. I asked him to point out where it said that. He said I cannot buy more than 10 movies and that I have been in the store too long anyways. I was shocked to say the least! I called him a moron for making up stupid rules and demanded he show me where it said that. He told me he would call the police if I didnt leave. I am furious!

Can you imagine these M-fers!? What is it his business that I am shopping for an hour or even more in a store that is there to promote business? What kind of moron hires this kind of idiot?
