Hollywood Video 3 for $25 has started 6/28/05
Just got back from Hollywood Video. Traded 4 movies in. Had a coupon for $8 minimum trade in but it was only good for 1 movie. The clerk was nice and gave me the $8 on the DVD that had the lowest trade in credit. He stated that they had not received the code for the 3 for 25 deal so he had to manually enter it into his system. He ended up giving me the 3 movies for 7.50 a piece.
Picked up Lemony Snicket's A Series Of Unfortunate Events(Watched it tonight and thought it was pretty good), The Life Aquatic CC, and House Of Flying Daggers.
As always YMMV.

bradley - last week it was 3/$30, but this week it is 3/$25 probably because of the holiday weekend.
Also when it is 3/$30 it is also usually 4/$20 on $7.99 and under, when it is 3/$25 it is also usually 2/$10 on $5.99 and under.
And, don't forget the 15% discount on giftcards purchased online (delivery takes about a week, so probably too late for this round of 3/$25) if you use the promo code "DSC178" which is suppossed to be for discover card users, but works fine with VISA and probably MC too.

The manager at the store near me was cool enough to pull a rental copy of In Good Company for me, so I got that, Finding Neverland, and The Aviator, then used my $20 from trade-in dvd credit, so I got three great movies for $5. awesome

"Coupon comes in the mail."
You are correct SIR. Too bad it's only good for 1 movie and of course I had to wait till I had gone thru my entire collection before I read the fine print.....bleh!

Doesnt Hollywood Video sometimes have keepcase versions of movies that are otherwise only available in snappers? That might be worth checking out...Im not much on printing cases myself, but if I could pick one of these up for cheap and sell the used DVD in my old case, it might be worth it.

Wish I knew about the 3/$25 last week. Picked up House of Flying Daggers, Hero and Friday Night Lights for 3/$30. DOH!

The HW 3/425 is good but the MG B2G2 is better even when the discs ar $15. They work down to $8.33 at HW vs $7.50 at MG AND the packaging sometimes comes totally complete at MG.

Hollywood Video recently bought about 2000 JFJ disc repair machines so just about every store should have one. These machines cost over $500 and can do a flawless repolish of the data-surface of a DVD or CD. They should be using them on all of their PVD (and regular rental) inventory as needed. They work by grinding off a lawyer of the plastic, so there is a limit on how much damage they can repair.
I don't know if HV has an official policy on resurfacing discs for customers. I bet if they did have a policy it would be to not do it in case the machine "ate" the disc. Although, from what I hear, it is hard to make that happen.
