The Spider-Man 2 CE was on sale for $19.99 (normally $37.99). Used the coupon for $10 off with no hassles. $10 for the CE, great deal!

That's a steal! Did the register scan and take the $10 off automatically or the cashier have to do an overwrite?

It depends on whether you want the theatrical cut or the extended cut of the films. I believe most people would prefer the extended cut. It has 4 discs per film - DTS ES 6.1/DD EX 6.1, and tons of extras.

The register took $3 off, since that was another deal on the same coupon. A manager came over and I thought I was doomed, but he glanced at it and then corrected it with the correct coupon amount.

Just walked out of BB with Spiderman 2 Gift Set for $10 and MP Holy Grail 2 disc SE for $5. I'm a happy camper. Seemed like the Spiderman 2 coupon worked fine, but they had to do some adjustments to give me Holy Grail for $5. Had to have 2 coupons and do 2 seperate purchases as well. YMMV, but as an earlier post said, the SKU# for Holy Grail is the $14.99 one.

Thanks for bringing this great deal to my attention!

I was able to get the Holy Grail CE for 9.99. The item numer on the coupon is for the 14.99 one but the picture shows the 42.99 one (on sale this week for 19.99). The manager came over and did an override since they have to honor what is pictured in the ad. Good luck to everyone else.

I also had the same experience. The cashier noticed the problem with the SKU, but I showed her the picture in the ad booklet showing the CE. She called a manager over who processed the coupon. The cashier then apologized to me for the two minute "inconvenience." No problem!

The coupon is actually supposed to be for the more expensive one, the product number is a misprint. When used with the $14.99 set, it only took off $3 (although I was able to get them to adjust it based on the number. This was last week, before the expensive one went on sale. I picked the expensive one up today).

Also, the Labyrinth set rang up at full ($40-something) price today, but I pointed out the sale and they adjusted it (then I used the $10 coupon). Sweet deals.

Edit: Misspelled Labyrinth.

It is on a display at the front of the store (at least at the BB I went to) with the other collector's editions (Holy Grail, Dark Crystal IIRC, I don't recall what else) that are on sale, and the printed (professionally manufactured display, not just a printout, so I assume it is not YMMV) material states that they are each $24.99 (although, Holy Grail is actually $19.99 this week). I don't know for sure if this is one week only, or what, I'm sorry I don't have more information.

Ok, I just checked the CAG DVD forum and found the rest of the info, courtesy of sman113 and others. $24.99 each unless otherwise stated:

Monthy Python & the Holy Grail CE ($19.99), The Dark Crystal CE, Labyrinth CE, Black Hawk Down (3 disc version) and Spider-Man 2 Collector's Gift Set ($19.99). The coupon in the back of the DVD Insider takes $10 off each of the given prices.

Now I tried to go the other way with it, but they wouldn't sell me the SE for $4.99, so I just bought the CE.

I thought for sure I was going to break disk 2 trying to get it off the hub. And then I finally got it off and its all scratched up.

Just got back from picking up the Spiderman and Monty Python sets. Like others have said they had to be rung up separate. The manager did the override and both coupons worked fine. The cashier apologized for the holdup and I went on my way. Gettin both of these for $20 is some deal.

ok i had the unusual occurance the other day at best buy.
i was at cust service to price match
star trek:ins but i didnt have the ad,
so she calls CC.

she tells me they told her it was 14.99.
ok i'm not gonna get that right now.

so i just handed her slingblade,
father of the bride and stripes.
i also hand her one the the coupons
for buy 2 or 3 get $5 or $10 off.

she looks at it like i handed her a $2 bill.

then instead of looking at the back
were it has a scanable bar code she
just price adjusts it to take $10 off the total
since i had 3 dvd's.
problem is stripes isnt part of the promotion.
oh well.

so all three of those for about $28 minus the $10 in RZ certs.
$18 for those three.
was going past CC so i ran in, got the ad,
and on the way home went back in BB and
bought star trek then went to
cs and price matched so i got that for 12.79.
so all 4, for about $33.

BTW, I stopped by tonight and the cashier rang up the CE of Monty Python. It was $19.99 as I expected. She tried to apply the coupon and it didn't work. She asked a manager in the office and came back and said it must be for the other edition. The guy brought one up and it rang at $14.99. The coupon took $3 off. I said that can't be right. The coupon shows $10 off and the picture of the other one.

She goes back into the office. Then she says you can have either one for $10 off. One for $10 or one for $5. I took the CE.

Question: is $19.99 a sale price for just this week? If it's a sale price the coupon says the $10 is off the regular price so I figured that must be the regular price or they would have said something.

Just checked their site and they show $19.99 is the regular price. I'm thinking they put the wrong SKU on the coupon and really did want to sell it for $9.99.

Well, the SKU is 4293687. Which is the non-CEedition even though according to the coupon it says see page 9, which shows the CE.

4293687

Collector's Edition

But, as you can see, people are able to get the Collector's edition. Now, I'm going to have to get it!

I had a similar experience this evening buying SpiderMan 2. I took it up to the counter with my $10 off coupon, and it rang up for $19.99 - $3. I said, that can't be right, that should be $10 off. She said, 'Oh, it must be on sale today'. She pulled out this weeks flyer and (fortunately for me) couldn't find a special listing for Spiderman 2 CE on sale. She gives me a couple more confused looks, and then just does a price adjustment for me.

People who are thinking about doing this, I suggest you head in soon as I'm not sure how much longer it will last...

$10.83 out the door for Spiderman 2 CE! Sweet!

PS Since Walmart sells these same 5 titles for right now at $20, perhaps it is just a permanent price reduction?? Just not sure, the one I found at Best Buy was still marked $37.99.
