Phantom of the Opera 2-Disc SE $14.77 at Walmart!

I was at Walmart this morning in San Leandro and noticed they had priced both the single disc Phantom of the Opera (available in either Widescreen or Foolscreen) at the same price ($14.77) as the 2 disc Special Edition (Widescreen only). Since this is Walmart, I would imagine YMMV.

The 2-Disc is 14.99 at Frys. I went there and checked out with the 1-disc and it rang up 19.99. They said the 2-Disc was 14.99. Sure enough I went to the checkout and it rang up 14.99 for the 2-Disc.

Fred Meyer has both versions for the same price too. Other than the pan-and-scan idiots, who would choose the 1-disc WS version over the 2-disc for the same price?

I'm not sure if it was a one day only thing or not at Fry's. They do those from time to time.

In their newspaper ad Fry's showed the 2-Disc of PHANTOM for $13.99 (in Indy).

I figured it was probably for the single disc, so I went to Wal-Mart and did a price match for $13.99.

My Walmart didn't have any 2-disc of the WS version ... only the 1 disc, which was priced $2 more at 16.47.

Same thing at the Eugene (OR) W. 11th store...fortunately, they had Pocahontas: 10th Anniversary Edition for $14.87, so the trip wasn't a total waste of time.

I guess the DVD wasn't meant to come with one because mine didn't have one either.
