Phantom of the Opera 2-Disc SE $14.77 at Walmart!

I was at Walmart this morning in San Leandro and noticed they had priced both the single disc Phantom of the Opera (available in either Widescreen or Foolscreen) at the same price ($14.77) as the 2 disc Special Edition (Widescreen only). Since this is Walmart, I would imagine YMMV.

wow, thats a great deal, congrats!

but i;m sure my walmart will screw me and have it priced at about $25

Big Worms 05-03-05 03:02 PM

Went to the Walmart during lunch and nope the 2 Disc was $21.87.

cmatherne 05-03-05 03:06 PM

The 2-Disc is 14.99 at Frys. I went there and checked out with the 1-disc and it rang up 19.99. They said the 2-Disc was 14.99. Sure enough I went to the checkout and it rang up 14.99 for the 2-Disc.

wennma01 05-03-05 10:56 PM

my wal-mart had both versions for $19.82 which makes absolutely no sense to me whatsoever, but thats walmart for you

I'm going to Fry's. I think National Treasure is also the same price.

Pbear 05-04-05 01:33 AM

was the fry's price today only?

Legolas 05-04-05 02:05 AM

Fred Meyer has both versions for the same price too. Other than the pan-and-scan idiots, who would choose the 1-disc WS version over the 2-disc for the same price?

cmatherne 05-04-05 03:08 AM

I'm not sure if it was a one day only thing or not at Fry's. They do those from time to time.

Walmart.com has the Collector's Edition for $19.88: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...uct_id=3620510

and the regular version for $14.97: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...uct_id=3620513

i bought the 2 disk version for 21.32 at my walmart today. they were also selling both the widescreen and full screen single disks plus the single disks with the original novel in a package.

LasVegasMichael 05-04-05 07:56 PM

The 2D is $18.xx at Costco. Picked it up today.

In their newspaper ad Fry's showed the 2-Disc of PHANTOM for $13.99 (in Indy).

I figured it was probably for the single disc, so I went to Wal-Mart and did a price match for $13.99. :)

silentbob007 05-05-05 08:35 AM

My Walmart didn't have any 2-disc of the WS version ... only the 1 disc, which was priced $2 more at 16.47.

Was checking out 2 Wal-Marts and found that the Super in Pinellas Park, FL was sell the 2 disc set for 14.24 and the single for 19 something!!! Go figure. Needless to say I pick up a copy!!!!!!!

Same thing at the Eugene (OR) W. 11th store...fortunately, they had Pocahontas: 10th Anniversary Edition for $14.87, so the trip wasn't a total waste of time.

AzianGoOkGrL 05-08-05 12:38 AM

Pbear 05-09-05 08:33 PM

I guess the DVD wasn't meant to come with one because mine didn't have one either. :(
