$4.88 DVD display at Wal-Mart (online as well)
#27
I picked up a couple titles as well, but most of the ones in this sale were ones I had already bought, such as Saturday Night Fever for $15 at Costco when it first came out or Enemy at the Gates for $5.95 from Columbia House thinking I had gotten a good deal. I felt pretty stupid seeing it for $4.88.
I second the question previously asked: does anyone know why Paramount is doing this? Fry's had a bunch of Paramount titles for $5.99 last week, then $4.99 this week, and then Walmart for $4.88. Are these titles being discontinued or were too many produced?
I'm wondering if this means I should not buy any more Paramount DVDs until they are under $6 if this is the new trend. Too bad I couldn't find What's Eating Gilbert Grape at my Walmart as it's the title I wanted the most. They had tons of Primal Fear (with Richard Gere) but no Beverly Hills Cop 2-3.
Some people had said Walmart had 61* in their $5.50 bins, but I could never stand to dig through that overflowing mess of a bin, so I got it at $5.99 at Best Buy where things were organized on a shelf.

Paramount is lowering their titles cuz catalog titles get lowered over time since they don't sell well anymore at their previous price. A lot of those titles that have received drops are 3-5 years old or even older.
Also, since HD-DVD is around the corner, I'm expecting that more and more titles will get price drops quicker.

Ive been wondering the same thing... it's great to see all those cheap movies, considering how Paramount was one of the last major studios to embrace dvd (as well as the last one represented in the WalMart 5.99/5.50 dvd bin)
As for myself, picked up...
Bad News Bears (had to dig a little to find them.. great movie, and I am sure the remake will blow since there are no film makers who would use the dirty language from the first, as well as the coach being a drunk with a beer in his hands ALWAYS)
What's Eating Gilbert Grape (love the movie and love impersonating Leo DiCaprio from the movie...)
Beverly Hills Cop 2 (picked up #1 the other night but have never seen any of these, but seeing how the first 2 were smash hits, picked up as blind buys)

I just wanted to say the remake is being done by Richard Linklater, possible the most important independent filmmaker currently working, who has proven his ability to work with kids in School of Rock, and it was written by the team behing Bad Santa. So I have high hopes for the Bad News Bears.

My Wal-Mart did not have these. They were about a week behind on getting the Eastwood bin in too so I'll check back later this week. Or go to another one down the road. I'm not in a big rush to hunt down these titles.

I got Clue, Primal Fear, and Vanilla Sky... Tempted to get Domestic Disturbance only because I briefly dated Susan Floyd (who played Travolta's girlfriend in the movie), but I didn't really like the film. I'll probably go back for the BH Cop flicks... I find it interesting that there are so many Travolta films in the 4.88 deal. Guess his movies don't sell very well at normal price...

My Wal-Mart had very tiny box like thing that held about 20 titles sitting on top of the Fox 14.44 display.
I picked up the last copies of General's Daughter, Primal Fear and Bad News Bears

My Wal-Mart finally got them in. I figured they would with the other dvd shipments. Anyway, they had most of them in with the Eastwood 5.50 bin. And it wasn't in the electronics area or up front. It was down by the towels and sheets. I bought Vanilla Sky and Beverly Hills Cop.
