Blockbuster 2 for $12 PVD

I dropped by Blockbuster and found a special display of PVDs at 2 for $12. Titles included:
The Big Bounce
Bookies
Monster
Mona Lisa Smile
In America
Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights
Starsky and Hutch
Paycheck
Welcome to Mooseport
Torque
Twisted
Barber Shop 2
Big Fish
Cheaper by the Dozen
Gothika
Master and Commander
Mystic River
Secret Window
Stuck on You
Texas Chainsaw Massacre
You've Got Served
Fahrenheit 9/11
and some other titles I can't quite remember. YMMV, but the display had corporate signage so ot may be a store-wide deal.

Mine had the same thing with the same titles--great price. Especially if they're still giving $5 minimum on traded DVDs. You could essentially buy all these, watch them and return them for $5 credit each, resulting in each one costing you $1 to see...assuming you rent often anyway.

Thanks for the info people. Will have to check out my local Blockbuster. Wow the minimum trade-ins are now $3, what a waste.

Yeah, I was a little surprised to hear "We can give you $4.50 for this one.." I went ahead and did it anyways.

Instead of taking a bunch of dvds to trade in, I would recommend calling them and giving them a list of the dvds (or upc numbers) you want to trade and let them tell you the trade in price over the phone.

If they aren't willing to do that, f 'em.

They usually have two or three people working and the best time to call is during the day just after they open to the early afternoon.

I might pick up Big Fish, if I can't find it cheaper anywhere else.
