I went to two best buys with the print out of the criterion, but neither had it. Oh well....it's probably a blessing. I can't imagine the mind-numbing frustration that I would have had to have dealt with speaking to customer service.

My Showgirls shipped today too.. Woohoo!

jpdude 01-17-05 11:20 AM

my first order shipped today (Ali DC, Showgirls, Necessary Roughness)

natevines 01-17-05 11:58 AM

I thought there was no mail on Martin Luther King Day though?

ScottsDvds 01-17-05 12:10 PM

All my stuff shipped, but the preorders and Amistad. The website shows the dreaded sold out in blue for most of the titles everybody ordered, even the preorders. My guess is the titles won't be in stock for the rest of the week.

I believe you're correct, unless Best Buy has bought out the USPS.

ScottsDvds 01-17-05 01:43 PM

They have it packed ready to ship.

Same here....my first order for Traffic CC & the Showgirls Gift Set shipped out today

However, with my second order, I still haven't gotten any e-mails from the stores confirming in-store pickup.

Zzat 01-17-05 02:04 PM

Traffic is "SOLD OUT"

fliggil 01-17-05 02:07 PM

Doesn't mean they can't pack it up and get it ready to be picked up for shipment.

Yeah, but it said they were SHIPPED, not READY TO BE SHIPPED. But anyway, I don't believe that UPS (I believe that's what BB uses) has off. It's government workers that do, so USPS workers have off.

chileorgullo 01-17-05 03:50 PM

and I was going to settle for tmnt the series and american pie 2 for this weeks 2 for 15 rotfl

If I can print postage off of my computer any day of the week, I am certain Best Buy can do the same. As anyone who has used Media Mail knows, just because something has been shipped doesn't mean it is going anywhere.

My office shipped a lot of items today via USPS. We have a postage meter. Whether USPS has begun to process our shipments or not, we have shipped them.

I think that the BestBuy.com order ppl came in on Monday morning and were like WTF, how did all these ppl order Traffic Criterion, Show Girls Gift Set, Rudy DE, Ali DC, Stand By Me DE, Hoosiers SE, and the Jerry McGuire SE for $7.50 each.

The quickest way for them to stop ppl from ordering those items any more was to mark each of the items not intended for the sale as being sold out.

jpdude 01-17-05 04:45 PM

Deal appears to be officially DEAD....Best Buy has fixed the link and now only the correct versions show on the sale page.....when doing a manual search for all the titles that we've been ordering, EVERY one of them is now showing Sold Out.

theMadness 01-17-05 04:46 PM

Just received an email from Best Buy saying my order for Traffic & Hoosiers has been cancelled. Other DVDs supposedly have been shipped & I picked up a few in store. Called CSR & she couldn't figure out what happend. My first order for Traffic & Hoosiers is still pending though. -screwy-

I hope the rest of the orders show up in the mail.

hellmutt 01-17-05 04:50 PM

I placed my order around midnight last night (showgirls and traffic) and so far don't have any confirmation shipping email on it :(

Check the order status at the website. I haven't received a shipping e-mail, but the order status page on the site states that Showgirls has shipped.:)

chileorgullo 01-17-05 05:43 PM

Hey You're right! Mine claims to be shipped too! Great! Here's to hoping it is the box set... :)

Dah-Dee 01-17-05 05:59 PM

On the first order I placed for 4 titles, Rudy (set w/CD); Knight's Tale Superbit; and the Showgirls box set are showing as shipped today, with tracking numbers. Traffic is still showing "in process; usually ships in 0-1 days."

The second order, for the new editions of Hoosiers and Stand By Me, is still showing up as pre-orders for those titles.

I have received no e-mails on any of these since the initial order confirmations.

phraseturner 01-17-05 06:08 PM

Place my order for in-store pick up last night for Showgirls and Monster's Ball (Unrated Signature Series version). Got email this morning for pick up. Printed it out, then got a 2nd email saying that Showgirls was not available for pick up after all...

Went to the store anyway, found one boxset on the shelf, took it to customer service and tried to complete the pickup. The argued that since the computer said they didn't have one, it must be true, ignoring the fact that I had one in my hand. I held my position, and the finally agreed to sell it to me for the $7.50 price.

Any time I've chosen in-store pick up for an on-line sale at Best Buy, there has always been a catch. They say they don't have one, but really do, or say they have one, but find that they actually don't. It must be great to have a business that is so profitable that accurate inventory doesn't really matter...
