Hope my order goes through.

Hoosiers - Widescreen Collector's Dubbed - DVD 19.99
A Knight's Tale - Widescreen Dolby Dts - DVD 24.99
Signs - DVD 14.99
Stand by Me - Widescreen Dubbed Subtitle - DVD 22.99
Ali - Widescreen Subtitle AC3 Director's - DVD 22.99
Traffic - Widescreen - DVD 34.99
Rudy - Widescreen Dubbed Subtitle - DVD 22.99
The Silence of the Lambs - Widescreen Special - DVD 11.99

Not too bad if I get them all for a total of 75.78 after shipping and tax. I will be very very surprised if this goes through! Many, many thanks to the OP and I hope everyone has good luck with their orders.

BestBuy's listing for the $34.99 Traffic shows "MCA Home Video" as the Studio. I hope they will not send us the regular version. Also, how do we prove we ordered the CC version since the confirmation email doesn't show the ordered item's SKU?

Is it your first order that you're having trouble with, Metalfan?

Oh, and BTW, since Hoosiers is preordered and Traffic is backordered, does anyone know if Bestbuy ships items separately? Or will I have to wait until Hoosiers is released to receive my stuff?

According to my order status, A Knight's Tale and Showgirls is scheduled to ship right away and Hoosiers will ship when it comes out on March 1. It would appear that they do ship when an item is available.:) I just loaded Hoosiers into my cart with the other two items from my order to see if it would show up at $7.50 and it did, so I don't know what to tell you if you can't get Hoosiers for $7.50.:(

Well, I'm too lazy to check, but I saw that there was an extensive list of extras on the bestbuy page. Can anyone confirm if those are the criterion ones? If they are, and someone receives the regular version, then they certainly have grounds for a complaint as the site clearly advertised different features.

My recommendation, and what I'm gonna do, is print out the page for the CC Traffic, which clearly states the regular price of $34.99, the "2 for $15" and lists all the special features. If they happen to send us the regular version, take it to a local store, talk to a manager, and I'm sure it will be squared away.

Well I'm not to lazy to check-wink- and the features that are listed by BB are word for word on the back of my Criterion copy. Don't worry, it's the Criterion version.

metalfan 01-16-05 07:54 PM

Natevies, my first order was traffic and showgirls. that went through. I am trying to get Hoosiers and Stand By Me now and it keeps coming up at full price. I logged out and same thing.

American Pie 2 VHS $129.99 -screwy-

Maybe it's not working because both movies are preorders. You might need to add an in stock item to get the price to drop on Hoosiers and Stand By Me.

Update-I just added Stand By Me and Hoosiers to my cart and they both show as being $7.50 each. I don't know why it won't work for you. Sorry.

I already picked up Rudy w/ CD and Showgirls boxset, Traffic CC is backordered per their email, expected shipment on the 21st.

I just tried it again and used Sleepy Hollow as my third selection along with Hoosiers and Stand By Me, total $27.38. Thanks for the help.

I also used a different email address.

I was trying to figure this out myself, when I noticed bestbuy.com states that the release date of Traffic CC was 11/5/2002, which happens to be when the CC was officially released, as opposed to the May 29, 2001 release date of the non-CC version. All signs point to CC.

natevines 01-16-05 08:40 PM

Anyway, any theories as to why this happened?
I saw two lists of the 2 for $15 on their site, but oddly they have the same exact link. One can be accessed by going into the movies section and clicking '2 for $15' under the 'quick hits' section. The other can be accessed by going to the listing for one of the titles in the deal and clicking '2 for $15'. The former seems to be the regular list with all the movies in the deal; the latter is the one that we're using. It seems that, in the latter list, they included EVERY version available of the movies in the sale (even VHS).

This is exactly what I did earlier today. :)

Thanks, OP!

As for printing out the info on the site, I'd recommend doing this with all the SEs that aren't supposed to be there. They're all on the site due to the same error as Traffic.

phatboy 01-16-05 09:39 PM

Same for me. Looks like you can only order once per account, so if you're going to get in this deal, order everything you want the first time (or use multiple accounts).
