the same thing happened to me. In the A9 FAQ on Amazon.com it says that you have to search at least every few weeks to keep the discount active. I had lost it for one order but I did a few searches hoping that it would come back. It came back a day or two later after those searches that I did.

Another surprised, but happy camper here. All four of my items shipped this morning...the first time I've had a (seemingly) Amazon mispriced order honored.

well, i got in on this. many thanks to the OP (Classic Films)!

I didn't get the A9 discount, and I even tried to do a couple of searches using that search engine (lol) to see if it would come up right before the order, but no dice. i tried to be all crafty, but i guess i'll just have to use it about once every week. (I tend to go on Amazon to read reviews way more than once a week, anyway.)

I bought:

-Dinner For Five: Season 1
-Margaret Cho Collection
-Joseph Campbell: Mythos
-Joseph Campbell and the Power of Myth

Wondering whether or not Wire in the Blood, Traffik, and Russian Ark are good blind buys.

I'm pretty pissed...I ordered 2 copies of Dinner for Five for myself and my cousin, who I'm seeing on Sunday and need to give her the DVD as a gift. Even though I ordered yesterday, with next day shipping, which garaunteed I'd recieve it today, it has yet to ship. I sent Amazon an angry email asking for my money back on the shipping, at the very least.

Well when did you buy it yesterday? About what time was it? It says that it usually takes around 24 hours for that item to ship.

$1000?

If you ordered one of each title in this thread, that would be $228. What did you order 5 copies of each title?

If I get my order cancelled because of you, you won't be a wannabe--you'll be a has-been.

Thank you for your selfless acts. Obviously you do not plan on eBaying these.

I hope a few of you give CINEMANIA a try -- I know one of the directors and they've really crafted a funny, interesting documentary about compulsive obsessive movie fans (switch it to dvd and it'd be a movie about all of us!)

I really recommend it for this price.

I also will finally be picking up Russian Ark -- I've been wanting it since day one but haven't found it used, or on sale, anywhere.

Joseph Campbell's Mythos is now $74.99 when you put it into your cart. Are all of them like this now? Were all of these just misprices?

I got lucky, I put it in my cart with a couple of Christmas presents a few hours ago, but did not click the confirm order button. When you posted that I opened another window to confirm it had jumped in price. I quickly hit the confirm order button and it accepted my order without changing to the new price. $8.09 with share the love.

I had share the love for Mythos and several others, did not take advantage of it, I will probably regret that.

I placed my order yesterday, and the order status page says that my dvds are expected to ship on the 10th. I used free supersaver shipping. At the risk of not getting them for the price listed, anyone think I should switch shipping methods? I've never changed the status of an order after I placed it, and before it ships, but I guess you can do that with Amazon.

It's not a major concern, but these dvds are at a great price (especially the Joseph Campbell ones), and I have a feeling -- since they haven't been shipped -- that I'll be a victim of the dreaded Amazon "cancellation" notice.

I had a feeling these might be big price mistakes and ordered multiple copies of several titles. A copy of each for my collection and the rest to be used for Christmas gifts ;-) Hopefully Amazon honors my order!

Slingshot -- for the Mythos set at least I don't think changing the shipping method will help much. It's got like a week long ship time listed. If the order makes it that far I don't think it will matter if it's overnighted or free shipping. Maybe if you ordered something that's in stock and ready to ship today it will help...

Joseph Campbell's Mythos was again $8.99 ... apparently just for a fleeting moment. I got in on it, but its ship date is 2/15/05!

I got a STL for the Cho set and it was $8.09 this afternoon and whatever it is now - not $8.09. Now, I've got the Songwriter's set in STL for cheap. Sheesh.

I think that if youve entered the ordered and they give you a ship date, they really have to honor it...That would be horrible business if they cancelled orders at that point. My ship date for both Campbell sets is the 15th, I really hope they wont pull a cancellation, and if they do I'll make sure to send an angry email. The fact that they were at that price for so long makes it tough for them to claim it was a misprice. Had this been a ten minute website error maybe they could cancel, but this was up fro long enough with enough orders that it would be a big problem if they cancelled.

edit: as a followup to their shipping mistake, where I recieved my order for 2 Dinner for Five's in two days instead of next day, they promptly refunded me for the 12.93 shipping charge, so right now they're on my good side. Recieved the DVDs today.

A huge THANK YOU to the original poster of this thread! Got many gifts as well as some sets (Thick As Thieves, for example) that I had wanted for a while but had balked at the price (even with the DDD 20% off sale). This thread made it possible to get some fantastic deals on great quality DVDs. Managed to place orders & get shipping confirmation for everything except MYTHOS (that's what I get for not checking back and reading all the posts). Oh, well...hard to complain when I got 99% of order filled. Thanks again for the post...and thank you, Amazon & DVDTalk!!

Not to say there are not members here who do it, but that is heavily frowned upon on this board. You have been here long enough to know that, if you do it fine, but don't brag about it.
