Wasn't there a 15 DVD set before? I can't seem to find it anywhere... in fact except for the link above I can't seem to find any reference to the Muppets on the site in general

Now keep in mind that there is talk about the Muppet Show in season sets sometime in late '05 or '06. This might be cheap enough that some may not care about rumors - but I thought I'd point it out anyway.
And yes, the 15 disc set is WAY discontinued. In fact I'm not sure how they're selling this one - I thought the T/L rights had expired and reverted to Disney.

I thought they couldnt sell the Muppets anymore as of June 30 or something like that. At least, that's what they were saying. They wouldn't take any more orders. I know my friend got turned away on the 1st of the month...

Didn't realize it was a British show
Seriously that seems kind of light for 12 years but whatever... wonder if Time Life will eventually release the rest of them, or perhaps Cosby himself push for a boxset?

I honestly had no idea how many eps there originally were, nor how long it's original air life was. Yes, I could have done a search, but I was too busy for that at work earlier, which is why I put my faith in my fellow DVDTalker. You guys came through for me... even if some of you were a little smarmy. Not mentioning names here... nemein.

Here's the latest on the upcoming Muppet Show release from www.tvshowsondvd.com :
Muppet Show, The - Season Sets Reportedly On-The-Way!!
Posted by David Lambert
11/23/2004
The past weekend the Brooklyn Academy of Music ("BAM") held a gathering called "Muppets, Music and Magic: Jim Henson's Legacy". It was a 2-day affair featuring workshops about the Muppets and Henson's related work, screenings of various films such as The Muppet Movie and Labyrinth, and lots of guest speakers.
As you may recall, Disney bought the rights to most Muppet items in early 2004, as we mentioned in passing here. Now reader "JVG" sent the first report of several from this past weekend that told us that during question-and-answer sessions at BAM, it was revealed that (in "JVG's" words) Disney plans to release a full first season Muppet Show set in 2005 or 2006.
Similar reports also seem to be hitting at MuppetCentral.com, where extras seem to be in-the-works as well:
...Craig Shemin announced that they WILL be releasing season by season box sets of TMS on DVD. No details right now cause they just found out today but they are forthcoming. They said that Crag [sic] and Jerry Juhl were both being interviewed for them so it sounds like we might have a few extra goodies tossed in too.
That's very exciting news, and we'll be looking forward to it here. Thanks to everyone who wrote in about this, there were many of you. Stay tuned for updates as this progresses.

I bought the 15-DVD set back in July when it was $60, but unfortunately a month or two ago I was broke and had to pay the electric bill, and noticed they were going for $200-300 on eBay, so I couldn't help myself and pawned it off for the $$$. Here's hoping we get season sets soon though (or hoping I can re-find the disc with Mark Hamill on it because it's the funniest thing I've ever seen).
